The Lead Villain For IRON FIST Season 2 May Have Been Revealed And It's An Unexpected Choice

According to That Hashtag Show, season two of Iron Fist is set to begin shooting this month with new showrunner Raven Metzner (Sleepy Hollow) at the helm instead of Steve Buck. The site has also come across a casting call for Tonya Parker, a character comic book fans may remember from Old Man Logan which saw her make a brief appearance as one of Peter Parker's daughters and Hawkeye's ex-wife.

However, the site believes that the character is actually Lady Gorgon, something which makes sense when you read the character description for the role which is set to be a series regular. Apparently, Tonya is "a chameleon
adapt at playing roles, she inhabits the part that best fits the mission." She’s also said to be an expert covert operative who has carried out several high level missions in the past.

In the comics, Lady Gorgon has a history with Frank Castle and is affiliated with The Hand. The site isn't 100% sure that she'll wind up being this villain but it would be an interesting choice even if returning to The Hand feels like a horribly bad idea! Still, as Danny Rand played such a big role in taking them down, it definitely makes sense that an ex-operative wants some revenge on him. What do you guys think?

Whoever the villain, I just hope the season is good; I also agree that they need to start moving past the Hand.

@WeaponXCII - Sorry to keep posting this, but in case anyone I am responding to didn't see it:

I read an interview after The Defenders was aired, and one of the people in that camp (writer, director, not sure?) stated that the Hand was finished, story-wise. They wanted to move on to other villains.

Have these guys ever actually read Iron Fist? Because it's really not that bad. Claremont and Byrne. Classic stuff. Why not mine that for villains. Khan maybe?

Has there ever been a show with a bad first season that had a good second season.

That's not true. That season got better as time went on.

@tb86 - Yep. Except I liked the first season of "AoS". It is just that I liked each season after that more than the previous. Lots of great acting, interesting characters, unexpected twists, surprises, great special effects (they rarely seem to go past what they could make look good), and so on. It just kept getting more enjoyable to me with each new season.
