According to an article over on IGN, The Los Angeles Times reports the following:

"...there's more talk underway about putting the urban hero into his own film and that a notable Hollywood star is now having (very) preliminary talks with Marvel Studios about the property and its potential."

Luke Cage earned his steel-hard skin thanks to a stint in prison. In exchange for early parole, he volunteered to undergo biological experiments which subsequently gave him superior strength and impenetrable skin, powers he used to break out of prison and embark on a career as a "hero for hire." He is now a member of the New Avengers and will be leading the Thunderbolts in Marvel's upcoming "Heroic Age"!

If not Tyrese, I think Michael Jai White should do it.


But Tyrese would bring in a new audience to see this CBM. I mean if it weren't for Iron Man, Tyrese getting Luke Cage would have definitely drawn me into Marvel CBMs.

If Terry Crews gets it I WONT watch it, the guy can;t act for crap. Henry Simmons would be cool and I could seetle on Tery Crews although I thibk he's TOO big for the role. Gibson can't act and Marvel should be able to see that...

Michael Jai White or Henry Simmons okay but Tyrese...its like hes the same character in every movie so no. Luke cage is 300 pounds 6ft 4in so Henry Simmons has the closest height but Michael has more of the overall look of Cage.

micheal jai white needs to be saved for a blade reboot, yes i said blade reboot, loved the films but would love to see what marvel does with it. terry crews has the look, but not too sure on his acting. most of his roles are comedic. other than gamer and street kings i cant think of crews playing someone other than the comedic relief guy. i would give him a look. to be honest i want will smith. we all seen ali, we know he can bulk up, and we all know he can act. tyrese is a big f**k negative for cage. like the guy but hell no to him as cage. if ving rhames was taller he would be perfect for the role. regardless who they get i am very stoked about a power man film. and like many others said, iron fist cannot be too far behind. wow, we are so lucky.

I always wanted Terry Crews for Luke Cage but the guy is just too old now! ;(

No idea who else I'd go for...Henry Simmons I guess but an unknown might be a good way for Marvel to go at this point because none of the guys above seem to fit the role perfectly IMO!

I don't really think he's a strong enough actor, and he's too old.Speaking from a looks standpoint, my sister and female friends don't think he's really good looking.

i say brock lesnar for cage. why not king pin was black as well as many others and agent zero was korean,so why not.
