LUKE CAGE Star Mike Colter Seemingly Bids Farewell To Power Man Following The Show's Cancellation

Following the shocking cancellation of Luke Cage last Friday, lead star Mike Colter has finally weighed in on the news and it seems as if he may be bidding farewell to the character for good...

Just one week after cancelling Iron Fist, Marvel and Netflix announced that Luke Cage had met a similar fate. While many fans are hopeful that this is leading to a Heroes for Hire series somewhere down the line, that's not guaranteed and if Netflix has no faith in these characters to lead their own shows, why would they then put them together?

Regardless, star Mike Colter has finally taken to social media to share his thoughts on the cancellation and it definitely sounds like the actor is saying goodbye to Luke Cage...well, for now at least.

Unless Colter and Finn Jones know something we don't, common sense says that the two actors will start looking for new gigs and that could also make any sort of return to this corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe a problem. Either way, it's clear now that the future of Power Man and Iron Fist is very much up in the air and nothing is guaranteed about what comes next for them.

Are you ready to say goodbye to Colter's take on Luke Cage? Share your thoughts in the usual place.

@Mercwitham0uth - same. Its not over till its over. Do we seriously think that Marvel TV is fine with letting Luke Cage and Iron Fist remain canceled??? Come on folks, don't be foolish.

so am i the only one fine with the cancellation...show was weak.

Do defenders season 2 and spin-off hero for hire with a new showrunner

@DoomPatrolGuy - no you are not the only one, beside Daredevil I dont really care if the other shows are cancelled. I don’t even want a Defenders season 2 or Heroes for hire show... I prefer to see a proper reboot (not recast necessarly) on the Disney streaming service. Iron Fist and Luke Cage can also work well as a « pegi 13 » shows/movies/mini-series

Tho I feel a little sad for the fans of thoses shows

@DoomPatrolGuy - The show was weak, but I didn't want it cancelled. Iron Fist I could care less about, since the show-runners apparently felt the same way.

"Seemingly", ffs Josh, open up a thesaurus once in a while and try and use another word other than that. Predictable fool.

@MrMartyMarvel - while i will honestly miss both shows (LC much more than IF though), hopefully this prompts Feige to add the Heroes for Hire to the movie slate sooner rather than later

@PicolasCage - I literally don't have a single thing to back it up, I think a lot of people have gotten the feeling that Feige doesn't think much of the street-level characters. They don't seem to interest him or fit into his plan.
