Rumored Synopsis For Marvel's LUKE CAGE Series Reveals The Main Villain And Love Interest

Now that Jessica Jones has finally wrapped production and season 2 of Daredevil is currently filming, Marvel is about to begin principal photography on its third standalone Netflix series that eventually leads into the Defenders team-up. Luke Cage will reportedly start shooting as soon as next week. And while the supporting cast surrounding Mike Colter's titular superhero has only just started to fill out, Heroic Hollywood has come through with potential plot and character details.

According to the following story breakdown that is "subject to change," the 13-episode Luke Cage series will see Willis Stryker aka Diamondback as the Power Man's main antagonist even though Academy Award-nominated actress Alfre Woodard was recently cast as a lead villain, Minetta. And despite Cage first appearing in Jessica Jones with the very titular superheroine that he's married to the comics, the love interest in his standalone series will be Reva Connors. What do you think?

“Luke Cage is a former gang member who is framed for a crime. In prison, he volunteers for a medical experiment that goes awry, giving him super strength and bulletproof skin. Using his newfound powers, Cage escapes and becomes a hero for hire. His archenemy is Willy Stryker, a former childhood friend from Harlem. The two committed petty crimes together, and both fell for the same woman, Reva Connors, which led to their eventual falling out. It was Stryker who framed Cage for a drug deal that sent him to prison.” - Heroic Hollywood

I'm so glad Harlem didn't get shafted by Hell's Kitchen.

sweet!

so glad they don't seem to be going straight to preggers Jessica Jones. As much as I love Jessica, post Alias she became such a plain white bread character. I want her to stay damaged and angry, not just miraculously have a baby and stop being an asshole.

and I am SO stoked for Luke Cage.

I mean come on, this is the nerd dream. 13 hours dedicated to an iconic character? Captain America barely has 13 hours dedicated to him with 2 solo and 2 team up movies thus far.

It starts shooting in a week? Really? That seems fast. Awesome. Plus I hope that means Iron Fist and especially especially The Defenders aren't too too far away.

So the guy literally took the synopses from Luke Cage #1 and #2, comic books from the 1970's, and made them his scoop. Hilarious.

Iron Fist will not happen.

And if it does, I hope Kevin Hart plays Danny Rand.

@Omarvls
yeah, I'm not quite sure why he hyped it up to be 3 scoops when it is just one, and even then this isn't necessarily that great of a scoop, this is all stuff one would know if they're aware of Luke Cage as a character: The villain is fairly easy to pick out, the plot synopsis adheres to the his origin in the comics, and his love interest is a love interest from the comics, I wouldn't be surprised if he just guessed all of this from vague details from people. The big thing that stands out here is that it starts filming in a week or so, and the reason this is good is because it implies that the Netflix shows might come in closer proximity than stated, which was suppose to be 6-months. So maybe there's a possibility we'll get Daredevil s2, Luke Cage, and Iron fist in 2016, or at the very least have LC and IF come quicker than initially expected.

@LEVITIKUZ

What could possibly be rattling around your mind to make you think Iron Fist won't happen? Has Marvel Studios ever announced something and not come through thus far?

I know next to nothing about Luke Cage and the lore which is why i'm really excited for this series.

Also anyone heard this; it's supposedly meant to be concept music for Cap:CW.

If you'd read the alleged synopsis it says that cage went to jail because of diamondback due to Reva connor as they were together in the past. Doesn't say anywhere thats the case now, especially as he's in JJ with Ritter. When you read the actual article it's more of El mayimbes Bullshit from his so called marvel sources. Shame the marvel freshman did a wilding.

Of course the first half of the scoop is the most obvious shit taken out of the comics.
While the second part is "subject to change" as always with the Mayimbe.

I think he's still commited to Jessica but he returns to Harlem and old feelings for this REVA are conjured up....maybe Jessica will appear on Luke Cage
