Though Moon Knight is obviously a Marvel Studios show and part of MCU continuity, it is very much a standalone story with little (there are a few Easter Eggs here and there) ties to the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe. Because of this, fans have wondered where exactly in the timeline the series takes place, and we now have an answer.
Disney+ updated the MCU timeline after Moon Knight's premiere, and, as many suspected, the show is placed after Hawkeye in chronological order. This means The Fist of Khonshu's adventures take place after the major, world-altering events of Avengers: Endgame and Eternals - not that you'd know from watching!
Though we may see more MCU connectivity highlighted in the final few episodes, Moon Knight really could be set anywhere on the timeline. This is by design, of course, as the creative team wanted Marc Spector's debut to stand apart as much as possible.
We recently learned that star Oscar Isaac hasn't actually signed on for more MCU appearances after this first season, so, in theory, Moon Knight could be the last time we see Spector in action. We highly doubt that'll be the case, though, and even if this series proves to be a one-and-done, the character will almost certainly show up on the big or small screen again at some point.
