MOON KNIGHT TV Spot Features Footage From Future Episodes, But Be Wary Of SPOILERS!

Disney+ has shared a critics TV spot for Moon Knight spotlighting the praise that's bene heaped on the show, but it also contains a few shots from upcoming episodes that might be considered a bit spoilery!

Disney+ has released a new critics TV spot for Moon Knight which highlights some of the praise that's been heaped upon the steamer's latest MCU-set series since it premiered this past Monday. The promo also contains footage from the next three episodes, and one shot, in particular, might be considered a pretty significant spoiler!

In episode 3, Steven Grant/Marc Spector and Layla travel to Egypt in an attempt to foil Arthur Harrow's plan, and while those shots are not especially revealing, we also get a quick glimpse of a scene from episode 4 with Spector looking at what appears to be a Moon Knight action figure.

We're not going to provide any more context, but let's just say it is somewhat surprising to see this development teased in a TV spot when only a single episode has aired!

The review embargo lifted earlier this week (you can check out my verdict here), and critics seem to be impressed by the first four episodes. Not everyone was won over, but the show currently sits at a very respectable 87% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Moon Knight follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.

The limited series also stars Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy. Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead directed the episodes, with Jeremy Slater on board as writer.

wish this show dropped more than one episode this week. I liked what I saw though!

I also am very unaware of the Moon Knight character, so this show is refreshing for me to be so clueless on a lot of the lore. It will be Interesting to see how this character can work in the MCU

@xfan320 - This is the general sentiment. This is where the majority stands in regards to this show for the moment.

This is the first time in the MCU for me where, knowing the lore, I don't vibe with the adaptation. Especially since the head writer confirmed we won't get Bushman who is basically his Joker and an integral part of his origin.

@xfan320 - the recent season of it's always sunny in
philadelphia dropped two episodes every week. it's a good model I think

@Dredd97 - Pretty sure that's cause they need the ratings. At any rate, I think what they OP meant was that they did the two-episode premiere, as they've been doing with most to all of these Disney+ shows.

@Kingdork - can you elaborate for a casual Moon Knight wannabe fan who Bushman is and why the fans keep saying how important he is? And also why you think Feige refused to use him?

@Dredd97 - what a brilliant season of Always Sunny it was too. Best comedic sitcom ever.

@McMurdo - Hell yes. Funniest show ever.

Dennis: I don't wanna get too bulky.

Dee: Right.

Dennis: I wanna stay nice and lean and tight. I wanna get that Jesus on the cross look. You know what I mean?

Dee: I see what you're saying. I think that crucifixion must have been really good for your core because...

Dennis: Oh, absolutely. Jesus had, like, the best abs. He had the right idea. Hey, he knew: no pain, no gain.

Dee: He had good messages.

Dennis: I'm sure he started that.

@Typhoon20 -
Dennis to Frank inside the castle that speaks to Dennis in his sleep lmao:

"I'm gonna take this painting, cover up the passage way. I'm gonna cut out the eyeholes so I can see everything that's happening. That's something I've always wanted to to do and it fully takes advantage of the castle.

It also happens to be the CASTLE'S preference for...........

..how this is all gonna go down."

@xfan320 - I don’t know a lot of moonknight I know tv show has changed some stuff from comic his costume doesn’t Alive wrap around him in comic unlike tv show shows., he’s like Batman but more crazy insane in his head he have different vehicles think he’s rich somehow that’s all I know about him in comics

@McMurdo - Well Bushman is the reason Marc Spector "died" and became Khonshu's avatar of vengeance when he resurrected him. Bushman and Marc were mercenaries together then became mortal enemies. Khonshu even appears to Marc as Bushman to [frick] with him, because Khonshu is an asshole. That happened after Moon Knight ripped Bushman's face off. At one point Khonshu said he maybe should have chosen Bushman to be his avatar instead of Marc who was disappointing him.

The head writer of the show said "well he's too similar to Killmonger" but that's bullshit. Bushman is a maniac, he's big and scary. You could clearly made him work but the way the show seems to work is to remove all the edge of what made Moon Knight badass and craft a more dumbed down, cookie cutter iteration. Feels like the Steven Grant persona in this show was written for Tumblr teenagers.

@Kingdork - I echo the sentiment. While I enjoyed the second episode more than I did the first, the whole character is so different in his backstory and characteristics (and removed of even any hint of an edge) that he could almost be a brand new, made up character. A pity, really, since Oscar Isaac is indeed giving his all to the role.

Makes me a bit anxious about what Disney's going to do with Daredevil now it's on the D+ platform and in the MCU proper...

@McMurdo - Why people takes these as bad news??? if anything, this is a sign that Sam actually directed this movie.

I do think there is no middle grounds, either all cameos were removed and we are getting an actual focused story, or we are getting 2 hours of cameos.

It was pretty meh for me. Found it to be too goofy, too repetitive, and too budget-looking. But Ethan Hawke was really awesome. A shame to waste him on this nothing character, I hope there's some kind of twist and he has a bigger role to play in the MCU.
Corruptor
Corruptor - 4/2/2022, 4:29 PM
@BestAtWhatIDo - I guess budget is the reason why we don't get billionaire Grant in a Bruce Wayne style mansion with helicopters etc. Don't really believe the too much like Batman excuse.
GhostDog
GhostDog - 4/2/2022, 4:59 PM
@Corruptor - I think the comparisons are weak when you look at both characters on a broader scale but when it comes to Grant it’s easy to see the legitimacy in that one aspect of the similarities. He was a millionaire who financed Moon Knight's missions with all sorts of gadgets and moon-themed vehicles. As a result, it's not hard to see why Moon Knight gained a reputation and identity as Marvel's Batman.

I enjoyed the first episode alot. I just hate it that critics who saw all 4 episodes think the next 3 absolutely suck compared to episode 1. it's really taken the wind out of any enjoyment sails I had about the show.

Typhoon20
Typhoon20 - 4/2/2022, 7:16 PM
@McMurdo - I loved the first half of Halos 1st episode. That was bonkers (MA rating showed off, they went there with them kids and i loved it). After that though it became too much your run of the mill show. I wish they just went the Mandalorian route, cut out the story and have the adventure be the story. Just nonstop action. Because tv shows that are big on effects usually suck on the story side. I hated the last 2 seasons of Expanse for example.
McMurdo
McMurdo - 4/2/2022, 7:19 PM
@Typhoon20 - see it feels like Mando to me but less of a video game somehow despite being a video game adaptation. I actually like the changes to the story cuz I'm a diehard Halo fan those games were so important to my childhood, but I don't wanna watch a 1:1 adaptation of the game. The politics in episode 2 were far better than the talking heads scenes in ep 1 IMO

BvS residual effect. Also Moon Knight is new to most people, Bats is not.
