MOON KNIGHT And MS. MARVEL Both Rumored To Be Getting Second Seasons On Disney+

We may have some exciting news about the futures of at least two Marvel Studios TV shows on Disney+ as a new rumour claims that both Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel have been greenlit for second seasons...

Over the past couple of years, we've been treated to a lot of Marvel Studios TV shows on Disney+. It's honestly a little surprising to see how quickly they've all been produced, and while there has been a little inconsistency in terms of quality, it's been exciting to see the MCU expand in such varied ways.

Many of the characters we've seen could have held their own in a movie, while others were arguably better suited to television. Oddly, though, of all the shows to have premiered since WandaVision, only one of them has been given a second season: Loki

That series ended on a major cliffhanger, and while the plan is clearly for some of these characters to make the leap to the big screen, Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel are perfect examples of shows fans would like to see more of. The former, in particular, ended with a huge reveal after Jake Lockley made his presence felt, and as exciting as it is for Kamala Khan to be part of The Marvels, she deserves more than just being one of three heroes in a team-up.

Well, according to self-styled scooper Daniel Richtman, both Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel have been greenlit for second seasons.

Based on comments from Iman Vellani, she would jump at the chance to play Kamala again, and it makes all the sense in the world for her to continue the mutant's story after she meets Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau. As for Oscar Isaac, he only signed up for those six episodes, so we're guessing he enjoyed his experience enough to return to the MCU.

No official news has been shared about the future of either series, though we do hope that both are able to right the mistakes of their respective first seasons. Ms. Marvel suffered from a villain problem, while Moon Knight was often as all over the place as its protagonist's mind.

Are you excited to see these characters potentially return in their own shows?

Truly surprised by a second season of Moon Knight.... But I welcome it if they make a fun show that transitions Marc to the MCU proper and continues to deal with his disorder

@GodHercules20 - you mean you didn't like all those times they just cut to after all the fun action happened? (Including the final battle for some reason)

@Origame - think it was ok to do for the first season since he was struggling with controlling the shifts but yeah second season now that they’re in sync it shouldn’t be happening at least not as often since the one out the loop is Jake , like maybe once and Steve / mark figure him out

@ShimmyShimmyYA - id have been fine if they left it as the first episode and maybe parts of the second and third. But it kept happening throughout the season and we don't even know how he was able to beat harrow, essentially meaning we don't know how he resolved the plot.

@Origame - yeah them doing it in the finale felt overkill with it and ruined the “limited series” aspect cause it clearly opens up another mystery. Just let Steve & Mark defeat harrow and then do the post credits with Jake stealing / murdering him as like a oh shit

@ShimmyShimmyYA - yeah. By that point we already knew there was a third personality, so I really don't see what it added when you're taking away the climax.

@TheWalkingCuban - I don't think either would be highly successful as movies.

@thewanderer - Maybe they don’t need to be highly successful just successful. Don’t try to do some Eternals budget thing. Perhaps after an avengers outing would be better.

I’m sick o Disney plus except for Mando

I wanna see Moonknight relocated to New York, struggling to become a vigilante as he has to shift between personalities.

Would also be pretty fun to see Moonknight struggle to hide his presence from the other hero's in the city.

I think they need to pause and seriously think what they are doing with Moon Knight before making more. The series had such a strong start, mystery, atmosphere - and by the time it descended into the nonsense afterlife stuff I genuinely didn't care and had no idea what was going on. It sort of derailed very very quickly - tonally, and narratively by the end I was glad it was over. A really strange piece of TV, and not always for the better.

@CLTMAN29 - The "nonsense afterlife stuff" was straight out of the Jeff Lemire comic run(which is one of the best and most popular Moon Knight runs).

@MARVELFAN1995 - I meant more how it was handled and how jarring the show became tonally. I don’t think it maintained a delicate enough balance.
