Secret Invasion's first episode, titled "Resurrection," kicks off with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's Everett Ross meeting a character named Agent Prescod. He believes he's uncovered a Skrull invasion of Earth and demands to see Nick Fury in order to share the intel gathered.

Ross is clearly sceptical but suggests he could take the information to Fury, a move which prompts Prescod to attack him.

Luckily, King T'Challa's old ally is able to make his escape after the rogue Agent is killed but soon finds himself being pursued by a shadowy figure. A chase ensues which culminates with the two running across Moscow's rooftops; clearly, Ross' pursuer wants to get his hands on that intelligence!

Ross makes a leap of faith from one building to the other but fails to reach his intended target and falls several stories to the street below. Maria Hill arrives on the scene as a badly injured Ross drags himself towards Prescod's data, only for the former CIA agent's mysterious Russian pursuer to be revealed as Talos.

That's right, he's not Ross; it's a Skrull who reverts to his alien appearance the moment he dies!

Elsewhere in the episode, Fury returns to Earth and learns that Soren, Talos' wife, was killed by the Skrulls who are looking to make Earth their permanent home. Their daughter, G'iah, is also part of the terrorist group led by Gravik, though she's later shocked to learn what happened to her mother and agrees to help her estranged father.

That eventually leads to a somewhat explosive final few minutes, though we'll be back a little later with a full breakdown of what happened there.

As for Ross, it's established that the Skrulls use tech to keep the people they duplicate in stasis and to steal their memories as well as appearance (making it easier to blend in). While we don't see him in Gravik's camp, the real Ross is presumably being kept there somewhere and, is, hopefully, alive.

The episode also doesn't establish how long he's been a Skrull, so fingers crossed answers are on the way.

What did you think about the Secret Invasion premiere?
