SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW's Latest Episode Takes A Fun Shot At All Those SHREK Comparisons

For some reason, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's title character has repeatedly been compared to Shrek (yes, Shrek), and today's episode seemingly took a shot at those ridiculous comparisons. Check it out...

Since the first teaser for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was released, some fans have argued that Jennifer Walters' Hulked-out form is akin to Shrek. Yes, the Dreamworks character brought to life by Michael Myers in the hit animated franchise.

While there's no denying that the Disney+ series' visual effects aren't flawless, She-Hulk looks pretty sensational on a TV budget. For whatever reason, the character looked phenomenal in the premiere (and no doubt more along the lines of what she'll look like in a movie), but the scenes of the hero behind her desk, for example, need a little work.

Even acknowledging this, to say the MCU's She-Hulk is even remotely close to Shrek in terms of her appearance is baffling, and at this point, more than a little redundant.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has already taken aim at the trolls who have attacked the series for featuring a female lead, and today's fifth instalment appeared to hit back at those Shrek comparisons. When Jen arrived in court to battle Titania over the "She-Hulk" trademark, the superpowered influencer greeted the superhero by saying, "Nice suit, Shrek."

It's possible this zinger was always planned as a way for Titana to belittle her newfound foe, but we can't help but wonder whether this line was added as a way of taking a fun shot at those who have dubbed the MCU's She-Hulk "Shrek."

Ultimately, She-Hulk was victorious over Titania in court. We don't think that will be the end of it, though, and a proper showdown between these two is no doubt inevitable at this stage. As for Jen, the lawyer really seems to be struggling with how differently her two sides are being perceived by those around her.

She looks like Fiona not Shrek. It's nice they admit the CGI makes her look like Fiona I guess. MCU used to be so cool :(

I hate to be in agreement with these trolls or MRAs douchebags. But man, this show is not good.

The plot for this episode was boring. A trademark dispute episode about She-Hulk keeping her name, this is the best idea you could come up with? Who honestly gives a [frick] about this? This is the woman who wrote the episode to [frick]ing Pickle Rick, and you can't writers to come up with good ideas?

I'm just wondering if this show is aimed at kids. This is child level storytelling; no character development; no nuance, nor interesting characters or even semi-intelligent writing, the jokes are just not funny to me and, at best, are tame and very vanilla.

I just don't feel this show is aspiring to be anything at all other than content slop on D+. This show pretty much screams "churned out for D+ content" in its quality. It is soulless to me. There's nothing for me to hold onto. This show is probably my least favourite thing Marvel has done since Thor Love and Thunder(and Dark World). Why has the standard for Marvel gone down so [frick]ing much?

@EgoEgor - I don't agree at all that this show isn't good, but this IS the first episode that kind of felt like filler, even though we do get some things that happen in it and some setup for future episodes.

Funny, I’ve hung MASSIVE amounts of shit on this show, but this was the first episode that felt like it actually knew what it was supposed to be: An offbeat court room comedy. Not the 4 preceding episodes of mismatched, thrown together ideas that didn’t gel together at all. I actually laughed at a few scenes for the first time in the whole season. But it was glaringly obvious again that the episodes are being show out of order, and the weird personality shift in her coworker, going from a sober professional to a zany shoe collection goof. WTF was going on with that?

@Tasmaniac - As as Segarra’s character goes, a lot of people are professional while carrying out their actual jobs and then goofy in their off-time. Most people at my job think I’m quiet and withdrawn, but around friends I’m very talkative and goofy. So I wouldn’t call that an inconsistency.

I hope Titania gets a costume too and she stays in MCU. I like how in the comics she is one of those villains that overlaps heroes. Just like The Leader will be the villain in Captain America 4.

I don’t think it’s a good thing that even the writers knew their character model was going to look like it was plucked out of a 2003 animated film.
