WANDAVISION Star Elizabeth Olsen Explains Why She Prefers AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR To AVENGERS: ENDGAME

Avengers: Endgame is widely considered the best superhero film ever released, but WandaVision star Elizabeth Olsen reveals the surprising reason she prefers the less "confusing" Avengers: Infinity War!

Over the weekend, the cast and crew of WandaVision did the rounds to promote the Disney+ series before its premiere on Friday. Talking to Cinema Blend, lead star Elizabeth Olsen shared her surprising thoughts on Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel, Avengers: Endgame

Olsen played Scarlet Witch in both films, but her role was limited in Endgame to returning alongside the rest of the heroes who had been dusted by Thanos when he attacked Wakanda. Aside from a few battle scenes, all the actress really got to do was confront Thanos and talk to Hawkeye about losing The Vision at Tony Stark's funeral (which the cast was told was a wedding scene).

That might explain Olsen's thoughts on the movies.

"Well, I feel more connected to Infinity War, because I got to experience more of it. Endgame, I was confused," she says. "Because I was like, ‘Where did I just come from?’"

That's understandable, and no one can blame Olsen for struggling to follow what was happening in these films. Shooting took place for both at the same time, so for the cast, it can't have been easy to keep up, which is apparent from these light-hearted comments from the WandaVision star.

Well she had a lot more to do in Infinity War, being the co focus of one of the main plots.

Although really don't most people agree Infinity Wars was an overall better movie

@dracula - I agree as well. Infinity war is easily the better film particularly with how well it managaes it's large cast.

@calino2212 - plus Hulk and Thor got better treatment there, with Thor sticking around, its fine them making him more of a joke cause we will get his send off later, but with Hulk, yeah were do you go from there. Really think Hulk is a character they dropped the ball on, after Age Of Ultron he had too much development going on off screen between each film he was in.

@dracula - It's pretty close. I'd even say it's 50-50.

God I remember people losing their minds when she dropped out of the sky in Endgame

Loki is probably the series im the least interested in. Might be good, but Loki had a full arc in the Infinity saga, seems kind of cheap to not only bring him back but bring him back from before he had all that development.

For WandaVision, really not sure what to think, with the whole gimmick of the classic sitcom throwbacks it could go either way. Could end up working well, but if they don't nail it, it could come off REALLY bad. hoping for the best

Infinity War was the better movie overall

I'm crossing everything for this. Could love it, could dislike it. She isn't my favorite character so I hope it all works.

Well yeah, she was at the core of the story for Infinity War, and as great a movie as Endgame is, she just pops up out of literally nowhere in the third act and is a part of the big action sequence. Not really much of a competition for an actor.

Um, because it was better?

Well, she's the only one to nearly kill Thanos so there's that I guess.
dracula

@elgaz - for sure the strongest avenger, technically should be Thor but seems like Scarlet Witch is more consistent in her power level, but mcu thor hasnt been at peak power since the ending of ragnarok

@dracula - kind bugs me how they have knocked Thor's power level down a bit. Though I guess they've done it with Hulk too and probably others. I wonder if post-WandaVision we'll see an even more powerful version of Scarlet Witch.

I enjoyed em both.
Infinity War is more action driven, it kept that momentum during the whole movie almost, action scene after action scene.
Endgame was more story/character with some characters arcs coming to an end which was done so good

There’s a reason Endgame got better reviews though. Infinity War as wonderful as it is doesn’t work as a movie by itself, just as a chapter in a series. There is no main protagonist with any real large amount of screen time, it just moves from action scene to action scene, character to character. None of which has a real arc, they are who they are at the beginning and the same at the end. Nothing is set up, the audience just needs to know who these character are and where they are coming from. And the entire movie just ends without any sort of resolution. Just stops. By conventional movie standards it doesn’t even work as a movie. But the beauty of the MCU makes in work great. Both it and Endgame are so rewarding for people who have seen every single movie in the MCU. Endgame works by itself much more though. It has a first act, second act and third act. It gets to concentrate on a more core group of characters who do have inner journeys that they go on. And the film has lots of resolution at the end.

Two brilliant films. They really were, pretty much the best we could have ever hoped for.
