WANDAVISION Star Elizabeth Olsen Says She Would "Love To Explore" The X-MEN - Possible SPOILERS

Elizabeth Olsen has expressed her desire to delve into the X-Men lore when she eventually reprises the role of Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe...

The last time we saw the Scarlet Witch, she was being buried under the rubble of Mount Wundagore in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness after a pretty definitive heel turn.

Wanda will almost certainly return at some point, however, and when she does, Elizabeth Olsen has a very clear idea of where she'd like to take the character.

Olsen was asked what changes she'd like to see Wanda go through when she does return to the MCU during a panel at San Antonio's Superhero Comic Con, and said that she really wants to "figure out the whole mutant thing. I just would love to explore [X-Men] so much.”

Of course, the Scarlet Witch was introduced as a mutant in the comics, and played an integral part in several major X-Men arcs over the years, including the controversial "no more mutants" House of M storyline.

Will Olsen ever get the opportunity to delve into Wanda's mutant heritage in the MCU? Possible spoilers ahead!

Though there's a chance this is completely bogus, a plot "leak" for Deadpool 3 did the rounds online recently, and it claims that the Scarlet Witch is going to play a big role in the movie. We won't get into specifics just in case these details do turn out to be accurate, but it sounds like Wanda will be at least partially responsible for mutants being introduced to the MCU.

We do know that the Deadpool threequel is shaping up to be a far more wide-reaching Multiverse adventure than we first thought, so nothing would surprise us at this stage.

If Wanda doesn't appear in Deadpool 3, you can bet she will be back for either Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars.

@TheSuperMex - rumors are stating that's exactly what they're doing in deadpool3
Apparently Wanda's spirit at the end of MOM, inhabited a Wanda from a different universe who's father was Magneto

If so then damn, she truly is a Nexus being. Can't even truly die from a mountain collapsing on her.

"but it sounds like Wanda will be at least partially responsible for mutants being introduced to the MCU."

They already did introduce mutants into the MCU. ANd I'm not real sure what Wanda could have done already that would have caused them to appear.

@CorndogBurglar - I agree. They don't have to have everything connect to someone. She and Pietro were just "enhanced" and could have easily been misnamed and actually had been mutants all along.

If they want to tie things together to events then I wouldn't mind mutants having been there all along, but in hiding, but then the snap, and the unsnap actually caused more mutants by reformulating their particles with mystic energy thereby mutating them and creating many more than originally existed.

Love how quick everyone is to throw her backstory away from WandaVision and AOU. At this point turning her into a mutant would be like putting a hat on a hat.

I doubt they'll keep the actress around, they'll want a younger actress and the weight of continuity from trying to accommodate for the absolute garbage writing of Multiverse of Madness and WandaVision means they've tainted a lot of the audiences interest in the character.

My expectations is a full hard reboot after Secret Wars/Avengers Forever. They'll be some set-up of the idea that maybe this new series of films is somewhat connected to the previous series of films because they won't completely deny it and with the multiverse reboot coming they can just claim the same continuity while hard rebooting.

@Scarilian - sounds like soft reboot to me

I think just having her being associated with the X-Men is not meaty enough given that Wanda has shown that she is clearly one of the most powerful beings in the MCU. What they should do is have the mystical characters in the MCU (Wanda, Dr. Strange, Clea, Agatha, Mordo and Wong) do a team up and take on Mephisto. They should establish Mephisto as a Thanos level threat and it takes all of them to defeat him.

....come to think of it, they could also throw in Thor and Loki and hopefully restore some dignity back to Thor's brand.

@Forthas - It's more about the relationship to Magneto, that fans would be into.

@99OPTIMISTPRIME - Yeah! but can you build a film around that. It could be a subplot that extends over several films, but what is the conflict?
