That's a wrap on The Witcher season 2!

After a long and difficult shoot, production has finally concluded on the upcoming second season of the fantasy adventure series, and Netflix has released a new behind-the-scenes photo of star Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, along with a featurette to mark the end of filming.

The video finds Cavill thanking the cast and crew as they prepare to leave the set, as well as an interview with showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. We also get some brief BTS shots of Cavill, Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) and Freya Allan (Ciri) in costume.

We're still waiting on a trailer, but this updated Season 2 synopsis will give fans some idea of what to expect when the show returns (no premiere date has been set).

"Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside."

It was recently announced that Adjoa Andoh (Bridgerton, Silent Witness) will play Nenneke, Cassie Clare (Brave New World, The Bisexual, The Irregulars) is on board as Phillippa Eilhart, Liz Carr (Silent Witness, Devs) has been cast as Fenn, Graham McTavish (Outlander, The Hobbit) will portray Dijkstra, Kevin Doyle (Downton Abbey, Happy Valley) will play Ba’lian, Simon Callow (A Room with A View, Four Weddings and a Funeral) is Codringher, and Chris Fulton (Bridgerton, Outlaw King) will take on the role of Rience.

Joey Batey, MyAnna Buring, Tom Canton, Lilly Cooper, Jeremy Crawford, Eamon Farren, Mahesh Jadu, Terence Maynard, Lars Mikkelsen, Mimî M Khayisa, Royce Pierreson, Wilson Mbomio, Anna Shaffer, and Therica Wilson-Read will also reprise their Season 1 roles. Previously announced new cast members for Season 2 include Yasen Atour as Coen, Agnes Born as Vereena, Paul Bullion as Lambert, Basil Eidenbenz as Eskel, Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia, Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen, Mecia Simson as Francesca, and Kim Bodnia as Vesemir

I didn't mind S1, but no doubt, it was nothing "great", hopefully this time they'll get their shit together.

I still don't like Cavill's Doug Cockle impression and snarling. Hope he tones it down a bit this season.

@Kurne - he literally does it to honor Cockle. if anything Cavill is making a point that we all expect Geralt to sound like Doug, and he's doing his best to make that happen. He's even mentioned Doug's name many times in interviews. I'm baffled by this complaint.

Even though I haven't read the books, gave up on the games after only a few hours of playtime and thought the first season felt kinda messy, I'm still very much looking forward to this. Even if it's just for the art direction.

Now that Henry Cavill is done with The Witcher Season 2, he hopefully will negotiate with success to appear as Superman in The Flash, since both he and the cast of The Flash are in London.

@WandaVision2020 - like the flash, but really wish they’d recast with a better actor

People complaining about the non linear storyline of season one, have you read the book? Lol honestly the book is better, always is IMO, but this "issue" is not unique to the show.

I have high hopes for S02, Blood of Elves is a good book, if a tad uneventful, it needs to shine after last one screwed up a bunch.

Not much Yen in it, though. I guess they'll make a recovery arc or something for a couple of episodes given how much they like having her in episodes.
