AHSOKA Finally Brings Back Thrawn And Ezra Bridger But What's Become Of Them Since REBELS' Finale? - SPOILERS

Ahsoka has taken its sweet time bringing Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn to live-action, but last night's episode finally reveals what became of them. Well, mostly.

While we don't get any insights into the immediate aftermath of Star Wars Rebels' final episode, it's confirmed quite quickly that Peridia is the ancient homeworld of the Nightsisters and where the Purrgil go to die...in fact, the planet is surrounded by a ring of their ancient remains.

The planet is one that's become the stuff of myth and legend among the Jedi, but it's all too real. The Great Mothers - who, among other Dathimiri, either originated from or travelled to this world using the star whales - appear to confirm Sabine Wren is a Jedi and are revealed as Thrawn's new allies.

The Grand Admiral's Star Destroyer, the Chimaera, soon appears but it's looking more than a little worse for wear as are its Stormtroopers (or Night Troopers). In fact, they're all pretty battered and held together with red fabric, a suggestion perhaps that, like Marrok, they're resurrected puppets forced by the Nightsisters to do Thrawn's bidding.

Another Mystery As Baylan Skoll's Plan Becomes Clear - SPOILERS

The villain has a history with Morgan Elsbeth but only knows of Baylan Skoll from his time as a Jedi and Thrawn sends both him and Shin Hati to kill Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger (the Grand Admiral makes good on Skoll's promise by allowing the Mandalorian to track her old friend down but doesn't seem to know whether Ezra is alive or dead).

Sabine does find the now-bearded Ezra after encountering some weirdly cute crab-like aliens and he seems keen to return home. For now, she doesn't tell him that there's no way back or how she got there.

Aboard the Chimaera, we see Thrawn has a new right-hand man known as Enoch. His gold mask is certainly striking but all we know so far is that he's played by actor Wes Chatham and holds the rank of "Captain."

As for Thrawn, he intends to return home and has seemingly struck up a partnership with The Great Mothers. His plan is to return to his Galaxy and before doing so, he loads a mysterious cargo aboard his ship which will aid in his mission to take his place as Heir to the Empire. As for Ahsoka Tano, he demands Elsbeth tell him everything about the former Jedi before requesting that the Nightsisters once again aid him with their dark magicks to help destroy the hero.

This was an intriguing episode of Ahsoka, that's for sure, and while we still have a lot of questions, the next two weeks promise to be very interesting now Ezra and Thrawn are finally taking centre stage in the series. We're hoping to see a lot more of them both over the coming years, anyway.

I'm really interested to see what the greater power is that Baylan senses.

The cinematography in this episode was phenomenal! They pulled back the camera on so many shots, really giving you a sense of scale. I never fully appreciated the size of a Star Destroyer until this episode! The shot of Thrawn in the war room, the way they light up his eyes, just great stuff here!

Good episode. Finding Ezra felt a little too easy and I was hoping there’d be more of a twist on his character after all this time. However Lars killed it as Thrawn and his reassembled fleet and crew was a cool look. Solid stuff

@MrDandy - To be fair I'm kinda glad they didn't stretch out the missing Jedi thing too much, got enough of that from the whole Luke exile from the sequels.

@MrDandy - eh I'm kinda glad he's the same, we've seen good guy goes bad a little too much in star wars. I do kinda hope he's a little crazy though.

@Urubrodi - agreed, also there only 8 episodes and most people would've been pissed if they waited until episode 8 to show him

The kintsugi Stormtroopers are my favorite stormtroopers. I can hear thousands of the cosplay guilds breaking their shit and gluing back their helmets kintsugo style. NYCC is going to be chock full of them

Personally I really enjoyed the episode (need to give it another watch as I watched it at the end of the night last night). But I will say that if nothing else I think that so far the pacing has been done pretty well as far as how they've been laying out the story and they've had purpose for each episode so far, meaning no filler episodes. AND for everyone who thought that they would only set up the return of Ezra and Thrawn and only feature them in the last episode as a tie into Filoni's SW movie, well here ya go. But, hey, that's just my take so far.

The Sabine girl makes me fast forward. I’ve eaten up every minute of the last two episodes but “Sabine” makes me switch to youtube

This show is on a roll, this and Andor are easily top tier among the live action SW shows.

You know what's really cool? Putting spoilers in the headline of an article less than 24 hours after it drops. Excellent work as always.

Anyway, I've been loving this show. Can't wait to see how it wraps up in the last couple of episodes.

@ThouBear8 - yep, she's definitely the weak link here. I was loving every second of thrawn but then she chimed in and runed it same with ashoka, she speaks and it's great then Sabine comes in flat as all hell with no emotion.

@BatmanBeenDrinking -
a) My wife wants to watch it and wants me to watch it with her.
B) I am hoping it gets better. It hasn’t.
C) How else would I speak to it and criticize it if I haven’t watched,

@MrDandy - No, She's not. It's out of morbid curiosity that we are fight through this.

She calls it A-Sh*T-Show-ka

@TyrantBossMedia - okay then we are right back to @BatmanBeenDrinking question.

Sounds like you want something to whine about and a property you already decided to dislike before watching a single episode

(And don’t deny it. I remember your comments before the show even aired a single episode)

@MrDandy - I go by the track record. I wanted Ahsoka to be good. I was excited for the prospect of it. Then I saw the trailer and was underwhelmed but still held out hope.
But then I saw the first two episodes and my fears were realized.

The show looks good but it isn’t good.

@MrDandy - spot on... I get watching something out of curiosity but tuning in every week for 8 weeks is just seeing it to bitch about it
