If you've had quite enough of seeing Boba Fett in his Bacta Tank, you'll no doubt be pleased that The Book of Boba Fett's flashbacks are finally over. In today's episode, "The Gathering Storm," we learn that Fett saw Din Djarin's flares from afar and that's what led him to Fennec Shand's prone body.
From there, he manages to get her healed (with some cybernetic implants) and asks that she help him retake his "Firespray Gunship" from Bib Fortuna. They successfully shoot their way through Jabba's palace and fly off with a plan to retrieve Fett's armour. Before that, he manages to gain some measure of vengeance for the fallen Tusken Raiders by blowing that gang to smithereens.
Next, it's time to return to the Sarlacc Pit where the monster once again attempts to devour Fett...and his ship! Thanks to a timely intervention from Shand, the Sarlacc is killed, though Boba now realises his armour isn't there. With that, we jump ahead to The Mandalorian's post-credits scene, which suggests that nothing of great significance happened between then and when Fett tracked down Din Djarin.
The Sarlacc has become a huge part of Star Wars lore thanks to Fett's apparent demise, so the creature being blown up is definitely significant.
This episode of The Book of Boba Fett also established that the title character wants to take Jabba's throne because he's fed up with being sent into pointless fights and wants to make things better for his fellow bounty hunters. It's a surprising reveal, especially as we'd assumed there might be a little more to it (trying to retake the planet for the Sand People, for example).
