Check Out The First Set Photos From Jon Favreau's Live-Action STAR WARS TV Show

We've heard that work would start on Jon Favreau's live-action Star Wars TV show as soon as this week and now the first photos from the set have surfaced! Find out what they reveal about the series here...

With production on Jon Favreau's live-action Star Wars series about to begin (despite a cast seemingly not being in place), sets have started being built and you can check them out by following the link in the Tweet below. It's previously been reported that shooting will take place near the coast, and while this definitely looks like Mos Eisley or Mos Espa, there's a chance it could be a totally new planet.

Very little is known about the show beyond the fact it takes place three years after the events of Return of the Jedi. That may seem like an indication we'll see some familiar faces here but the reports about Kathleen Kennedy's contract extension at Lucasfilm pointed to this and other small-screen endeavours focusing on new characters rather than revisiting the past and familiar storylines.

It's also noted in the report below that the show could end up focusing on the plight of the Mandalorians as they look to find their place in the Galaxy without the Empire. As a result, both Mandalore and Tatooine will reportedly feature in the untitled show which is being developed for Disney's planned streaming service. Are you excited for this series? Weigh in on that in the usual place.

@aflynn - yes we did, and I noticed it was taken down. Maybe because it was very poorly written or Josh is trying to get another scoop.

He made the movie Chef, in which he had Scarlett Johansson as his girlfriend and Sofia Vergara as his ex-wife. I'm just saying... I'm jealous.

This should be set halfway between Return and Force Awakens, not 3 years after Return.

Seeing how this is set between OT and sequel trilogy... no, thanks.

But I hope those who'll watch it will have a good time!

Set photos already? Awesome. A Star Wars TV series. Finally. And what sounds like an incredible streaming service.

This is fun, BUT it is a little bummy that a franchise meant for the largest, loudest theatres is now going to the small screen.

Seems like a far cry away from 1997 when Lucasfilm proclaimed, “...on the small screen. And if you’ve only seen it this way...you haven’t seen it at all.”

And yes...budgets, Effects, quality of TV Shows have jumped leaps and bounds...but still...

Nothing beats Star Wars on the Big Screen.

Really interested in what Faverau does with this. I've enjoyed a lot of his stuff so hopefully he knocks it out of the park.
