In "Rumor Mill," we share the hard to buy rumours that don't come from reliable sources like the trades, but are still more believable (just) than what you might find on Reddit.
It's been nearly a week since The Mandalorian's season two finale, and we're still reeling from Mark Hamill's surprise return as Luke Skywalker. Appearing in the final few minutes of "The Rescue," the Jedi Knight made short work of the Dark Troopers and took Grogu into his care in order to train him.
The episode has now been followed by a hard-to-believe rumor from FandomWire which claims that Lucasfilm are in the very early stages of developing a Luke Skywalker series for Disney+. The site claims to be unsure whether Mark Hamill would return with the same de-aging technology, but notes that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier star Sebastian Stan is being considered for the role.
This is very, very hard to believe, and while the site has shared a handful of accurate scoops in the past, the timing of this one, coming right after Luke's cameo in The Mandalorian, is suspect.
The prospect of Stan playing a young Luke and training Grogu is an enticing one, but not something we can fully believe this early on. It's food for thought, though, and would be very cool to see.
