The latest episode of The Mandalorian was another winner, and it managed to perfectly set the stage for this Friday's finale. Ending with Din Djarin issuing a dire warning to Moff Gideon, it appears we can look forward to an epic battle between those two with the fate of Grogu on the line.

As per usual, Lucasfilm has now released a gallery of concept art from this episode of the Star Wars show.

For the most part, the focus is put on what appeared to be a Mad Max-inspired chase involving the Mandalorian, Mayfeld, and those local pirates, though it seems it was once going to play out in vastly different settings. We also get to see a badass team-up featuring Cara Dune and Fennec Shand, not to mention that key final scene with Din and Gideon.

The artists who contributed to the end credits include Erik Tiemens, Brian Matyas, Anton Grandert, Christian Alzmann, and Ben Last. To take a look through the gallery, simply click the "Next" button down below!

The scrapyard we visited at the start of the episode was full of Imperial TIE Fighters, AT-STs, and more. Clearly, we're looking at the remnants of Palpatine's forces following the Galactic Civil War.

One of the coolest reveals in last week's episode of The Mandalorian was the fact that Mayfeld was part of Operation Cinder. You'll be familiar with that if you've play Star Wars Battlefront 2, though.

It appears this chase sequence was originally going to take place on a hillside, and that certainly would have upped the stakes. However, it also would have been a logistical nightmare to shoot.

Seeing Cara Dune and Fennec Shand fighting side-by-side was awesome, though it is a shame we never got to see them in a setting like this, gunning down the Stormtroopers around them.

Din Djarin used Moff Gideon's words against him in that final scene, and the stage has now been set for an epic confrontation. Something tells us that Beskar spear will come in handy against the Darksaber...

In the minority here but I LOVE Boba’s armor repainted

@BlackBeltJones - I like it. The black cloth threw me for a minute but it's grown on me. I guess it's more slimming.

Love the robe. It’s a nice blend between who he had to become without the armor and now him re-embracing who he was.

@BlackBeltJones - I was iffy at first but I've grown to love it. Especially because I think he did it as a symbol for his dedication to Din. Painting your armor green symbolizes devotion to duty in Mando culture.

@InfinitePunches - Not to be a smart ass, but why the hell was it green in the original trilogy then? He was a vile scumbag for hire with no devotion to anything but money it seemed.

Gotta give love to the original master. Mad Max wouldn't have existed without William Friedkin, Popeye Doyle and The French Connection.

Similarly neither would Vin Diesel's career, so I guess we take the good with the bad.

@inkniron -
Extra bonus for the French Connection reference.

Everyone saying it reminds them of Mad Max could be forgiven for not knowing it’s actually based off the great The Wages of Fear.

OT:

TDK added to the National Film Registry. I think it’s the only CBM next to Superman: The Movie that has been inducted.

From these I take both the chase and escape were gonna play out differently, but I'm still happy with what we got. Especially that mess hall scene was intense.

Also, I've been wondering why so few people have brought up Mayfeld mentioning Operation Cinder or Mandalore is destroyed. I'm thinking that the Purge might be Mandalore's destruction during Operation Cinder. Which Gideon was in charge of.
