THE MANDALORIAN: Fascinating Detail About Pedro Pascal's Performance In The Latest Episode Discovered

You don't need us to tell you what a great actor Pedro Pascal is, but one eagle-eyed fan has noticed a fascinating detail about his unmasked performance in last Friday's episode of The Mandalorian...

For only the second time since the show began, last week's episode of The Mandalorian saw Din Djarin remove his helmet. It's a moment which has led fans to question whether he can truly remain a Mandalorian after previously saying that to show another living person his face would be to give up his helmet and the creed he's followed since childhood ("this is the way," remember).

Din was forced to remove his helmet in an Imperial base while trying to locate Grogu, and one fan of the Disney+ series has picked up on a very interesting detail about Pedro Pascal's performance.

As they explain in great detail, the actor moves his head in a way that you'd expect someone who has spent most of their life wearing a helmet would. The heroic bounty hunter never really uses his peripheral vision because, well, how could he in all that armour? It's a fascinating point, and if you go back and watch these scenes, you'll see this Redditor isn't reading too much into this.

Whether we'll see more of Din's face in The Mandalorian remains to be seen, but details like these really emphasise what a special series this is...and how damn good Pascal really is.

Nice detail. Having a moustache is still a strange choice to me though.

@inkniron - If I learned anything from quarantine, it's that if people aren't going to see your face, you get lazy when it comes to shaving.

I really hope those rumors of him being written off aren't true. Pedro Pascal makes this show what it is.

@InfinitePunches - what rumors? Please tell me you're just referring to the Grace Randolph ones-- which didn't turn out to be true of course.

@Kurne - There was one this week that said he may be replaced by a "different Mandalorian." Likely untrue though.

This was "discovered" the day after the episode aired. Wildling staying on top of things yet again!

I could see him as Deathstroke

That is actually pretty cool

My expectation was that Mando and Fett have a visual and hearing aid inside the helmet. If not, it's ridiculous that have them fight so well.

Perhaps this signals that Din Djarin is starting to see a bigger world, where to be Mandalorian is not just about one groups leanings, but about a broader group of Mandalorians. If you watched the animated shows, other Mandalorians are not so militant as to NEVER remove their helmets, but one would never accuse them of NOT being Mandalorian.

The episode also shows just how much Grogu means to Mando. He will do anything to get Grogu back. And Mando is poised to be even more frightening than the Doctor in "A Good Man Goes To War". Mando is the ultimate good man, at least that is what he is becoming.

Didn't pick up on that, because to me he mainly just looked really awkward. It's a cool detail, and Pascal did a good job at it this episode.

Just went back and rewatched. I think this may be reaching just a bit. Not taking anything away from Pedro but don't that he was doing what the author implies.

@TREE24K - Even if he were, attention to detail like this is in the job description for an actor. This isn't a huge or unique bombshell like this sensationalist headline makes it out to be - again, it's just rudimentary attention to detail. Any leading man or woman (and for that matter, director) would consider things like this as a matter of course, since the thought and preparation for a role extends beyond just what we see on the screen.
