Katee Sackhoff made her debut as Bo-Katan Kryze in this past Friday's episode of The Mandalorian, and the former Battlestar Galactica actress has now spoken about getting the chance to play her animated Clone Wars character in live-action during a new interview with ET.
Sackhoff says she never imagined that she'd get the opportunity to portray Katan because "fan castings never happen," but she happened to mention it to Dave Filoni when she first heard about The Mandalorian, and he hinted that it might be possible. Later, Jon Favreau called her in for a meeting and officially offered her the part.
Bo-Katan will almost certainly return for more adventures, but we don't know for sure if we'll see her again in season 2. Whether the character factors in to these last few episodes remains to be seen, but Sackhoff does confirm that "The Heiress" is "so important to the story of The Mandalorian and where it’s going."
Be sure to check out the video interview for yourselves below.
Will we witness that inevitable face-off between Bo-Katan and Moff Gideon during this current season of The Mandalorian? We'll just have to wait and see, but if that showdown is indeed on the agenda, it's most likely going to be saved for the finale.
