Yesterday's episode of The Mandalorian will surely rank among the show's greatest chapters, and five weeks in, we finally have a better idea of where season 3 is heading.
The next few weeks are clearly going to be a real thrill ride, that's for sure, and a huge gallery of stills and concept art from "The Pirate" has now been revealed (via SFFGazette.com). The latter pieces showcase many key moments from Chapter 21, revealing how they were dreamed up before being brought to the screen by director Peter Ramsey (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse).
Along the way, Pirate King Gorian Shard receives the spotlight, as does the New Republic base which saw us get a cameo appearance from a fan-favourite Star Wars Rebels character (read more about that by clicking here).
We also see more of that epic aerial battle and the big cliffhanger about the shocking fate of Moff Gideon. As for those stills, the focus is primarily on Din Djarin and his fellow Mandalorians, though characters like Greef Karga, Captain Carson Teva, and Vane make their presence felt as well.
Now we're more than halfway through The Mandalorian's third season, the pace is finally starting to pick up and it definitely feels like Jon Favreau is laying the groundwork for an even bigger story somewhere down the line.
Before you get too excited about what that could be, remember that we have Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew to get to before then and likely more seasons of both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett (with any luck, it's going to be a movie).
"With standout performances from Katee Sackhoff and Sun-Hyung Lee," we said in our review yesterday, "'The Pirate' features everything fans love about Star Wars and sees filmmaker Peter Ramsey prove himself one of this franchise’s greatest directors with a masterpiece-level episode."
