THE MANDALORIAN: "The Marshal" Stills Reveal A Closer Look At Cobb Vanth And An Official Shot Of [SPOILER]

Lucasfilm has released some new stills from last Friday's episode of The Mandalorian, offering some stellar shots of Timothy Olyphant's Cobb Vanth and our first official look at that returning character...

The Mandalorian returned with a bang last Friday, and "Chapter 9" (a.k.a. "The Marshal") was a great start to what looks set to be a stellar second season of the Disney+ TV series.

Now, Lucasfilm has shared more official stills from the premiere, and they're pulling back the curtain on Cobb Vanth in a big way. As you can see below, the protector of Mos Pelgo is shown standing side-by-side with Din Djarin in the town's cantina, while we later get to see Timothy Olyphant with Boba Fett's helmet on as he protects his home.

Oh, and yes, that definitely appears to be part of Anakin Skywalker's podracer he's using to race into action alongside the bounty hunter and the Child. Some feel that Easter Egg was too on the nose, but there's no denying that it's a pretty cool reference to Tatooine's history.

We also have a cool shot of the Krayt Dragon, but most exciting is the first official still of Temuera Morrison as the returning Boba Fett. Has he been hiding among the Sand People? He has their weaponry on their back, but it could be he just killed some of them so he can protect himself.

Check out these newly revealed stills from The Mandalorian below:

I really hope Cobb Vanth comes back, he’s probably my favorite side character so far. Timothy brings that Cowboy swag and charm to his performance so perfectly and he’s already left a good impression as pretty good character. I’m still in a bit of awe that this is what the Star Wars franchise needed, like the universe is so vast and fun I can’t wait to see what they do with their other series if they’re on this caliber as well

And I can’t get enough of this episode, this season is off to a damn good start

Okay enough fanboying

The only thing that irked me was the fact that Cobb didnt seem to wear his helmet at all once he took it off in the beginning of the episode.

About Anakin's podracer: as we are shown, there are not that much towns on Tatooine. Apart from Mos Eisley, Mos Espa and Mos Pelgo/Freetown there are no other settlements in there.

Makes sense that resources are limited there, so it's not just an easter egg, but also a "world-building detail" that also says that there, nothing is sacred if you need to survive.

Man I love Timothy but he looked way too slim with that armor on, especially in that first shot of him in the doorway. But he's always been like that I guess.

I just love how tropey this show is. It knows it's a space western and I love it for that.
