While it was initially reported that Star Wars Rebels would be getting an animated sequel series, it's now thought that Ezra Bridger's story will continue in the live-action Ahsoka instead.
That does make sense, and likely means we'll see Temuera Morrison play Captain Rex as well as Boba Fett over in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. There's no word on who will play Sabine Wren, but rumour has it Lucasfilm is eyeing Aladdin star Mena Massoud for Ezra.
Now, the actor has responded to the recent report with a cryptic (shirtless) Instagram post.
"Hey, just so you know, when I escape I won't hurt any of you," he says in the post below - a quote pulled directly from the season two episode of Star Wars Rebels, "Stealth Strike." The young Jedi said that to a group of Stormtroopers after he was captured by the Empire.
Is this confirmation that Massoud will play Ezra? Not exactly, but it's certainly an interesting tease, and one which acknowledges those rumours about Ahsoka head on. The actor would be a fitting choice to play an older Ezra, and it's not hard to imagine him doing a great job as Kanan Jarrus's old apprentice.
