OBI-WAN KENOBI's Finale Delivered The Battle Fans Have Been Waiting For And IT. WAS. EPIC! - SPOILERS

The final episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi dropped on Disney+ yesterday morning, and we're now breaking down that epic battle and taking a closer look at what it meant for both Ben and Darth Vader. Check it out!

If you're among those who felt Ben's duel with Darth Vader in Star Wars: A New Hope was a little...tame, then you should definitely make watching the Obi-Wan Kenobi finale a priority.

That battle was, of course, a product of its time, and while it may not have featured the same level of intensity as Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker's clash in Revenge of the Sith, it told a story and teased the history between the two former friends. In yesterday's finale, they once again squared off, and we think it's safe to say this is the Star Wars franchise's greatest lightsaber battle.

In an epic display of power from both Obi-Wan and Vader, they use the Force to throw gigantic boulders at each other, with the Sith Lord even believing he has defeated his former Master after burying him alive. Obi-Wan, however, arguably proves himself Vader's superior when he lifts that debris into the air and flings rock after rock at the clearly overwhelmed villain.

A few well-placed lightsaber strikes later, and the control panel on Vader's suit has been badly damaged, while a hole has been sliced across his helmet. With that, an iconic piece of imagery from various comic books and, more specifically, Star Wars Rebels, is translated to live-action as we see what lies beneath Vader's mask.

Obi-Wan is horrified to learn what's become of his former Padawan after leaving him for dead on Mustafar all those years ago, and after Vader tells him Anakin is "gone" and that he is all that remains, a tearful Ben apologises to his foe for everything that happened.

"I am not your failure, Obi-Wan," Vader responds. "You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker. I did," he adds with a twisted smile on his face and vows to destroy his old Master. Clearly, Anakin is no more at this stage and the Dark Side and "Darth Vader" really were ultimately responsible for the demise of one of the greatest Jedi to ever live. Ben is horrified to realise his friend is truly dead and says "Goodbye, Darth," as he walks away from an irate Vader.

We're sure there will be many interpretations of this scene, but it does feel as if Obi-Wan is somewhat vindicated for Anakin's descent into evil. Vader has wiped Anakin out, and while there were many contributing factors to what led to his fall, this scene really drives home the destructive, tragic power the Dark Side has on those who fall prey to it.

However, pay close attention to his eyes and you might notice that some of Anakin may remain...
