Although Bungie's Showcase For DESTINY 2: THE FINAL SHAPE Impressed Fans, It's Not Stopping DESTINY 3 Rumors

Rumors have claimed that Destiny 3 is now in production, as Bungie aims to reverse the current negativity circling Destiny 2 with an amazing showcase for The Final Shape.

The Final Shape DLC release is now being viewed by even the most jaded D2 fans as the fresh content that will save the game and return it to its former glory, just like The Taken King and Forsaken DLC before it.

The number of players in Destiny 2 is at an all-time low right now, and a lot of its popular YouTubers and streamers have moved on to other games.

However, everyone seems to now be circling back thanks to Bungie's impressive showcase for The Final Shape, which you can check out below. You can see the top Destiny 2 YouTuber @Aztecross reacting to yesterday's livestream.

But it seems the main discussion topic spinning out of yesterday's showcase isn't the possible turnaround for Destiny 2.

Rumors from multiple sources are emerging that The Final Shape will mark the end of the 'Light vs Darkness' saga that began in Destiny and Destiny 2 and that The Final Shape will be the final expansion for the game.

If the rumors are correct, it seems Bungie's Destiny 2 is now starting to turn its attention to Destiny 3.

It seems Bungie is reportedly working on Destiny 3 under the codename, Payback. Some longtime Destiny vets are freaking out over the codename, taking it as an indication that the Guardian and the Vanguard may lose the upcoming showdown against The Witness.

The rumors also stated Destiny 3 would see the game shift away from its class-based gameplay aspects, allowing for players to mix-and-match abilities from any of the 3 subclasses- Hunter, Titan, and Warlock.

During yesterday's livestream, Destiny 2’s Executive Creative Director, Luke Smith cryptically teased that players would learn more about what the future holds for the game after players have their epic showdown with The Witness when the DLC drops on June 4.

We'll caution that these rumors are just that for now, but we'll also add that the same source hinted at the existence of the new Prismatic  subclass long before it was officially unveiled during yesterday's livestream.

I haven't played these games because I have heard it's a lot to grind.

Can't play this anyway when there is democracy to spread across the galaxy

As a long time Destiny player I was on the fence with this one. But after what they showed I started playing again. Also help that new content dropped with some long vaulted weapons returning.

So much drama behind the scenes at Bungie though. Firings, loss of certain positions, very greedy and clueless executives, etc.

It's now being said that Sony wants to get rid of Bungie's execs and return the company back to its former glory by doing a takeover of the company.

I tapped out on Destiny a long time ago. They got too greedy with those expansions AND paying for the seasons. They they starting ripping out content. They really screwed up not having a narrative that made any sense. They just kept introducing the same kind of villains. Oh you killed this Cabel, this is his sister! I've killed more of Crota's family then I can count and now I don't care.

I spread Democracy now.
