The gruesome first trailer for NetherRealm's Mortal Kombat 1 (a soft reboot of the franchise) debuted yesterday, and details of the premium version of the game's first Kombat Pack have now leaked online via Amazon Italy.

Playable characters will include MK mainstays such as Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takeda, but players will also be able to take control of Invincible's Omni Man, The Suicide Squad's Peacemaker, and Homelander from The Boys!

It's going to be very interesting to find out how incredibly powerful - and ruthlessly bloodthirsty - characters like Homelander and Omni-Man match-up against each other and the MK regulars.

We don't have any images of the Kombat Pack characters just yet, but keep an eye out for updates. In the meantime, have another look at the awesome, fatality-filled trailer below.

NetherRealm’s genre-defining Story Mode returns with an immersive cinematic narrative featuring unexpected twists on classic rivalries and original backstories for a wide-ranging cast of legendary fighters, including Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, and many others. Mortal Kombat 1 will also introduce Kameo Fighters, a unique roster of partner characters that can assist during matches, creating expanded gameplay possibilities for players.

“With Mortal Kombat 1 we are bringing a reimagined universe to the legendary franchise which has captivated gamers for more than 30 years and continues to top itself,” said David Haddad, President, Warner Bros. Games. “The talented team at NetherRealm Studios continues to push the series forward in bold ways that have consistently expanded the global audience, and we believe Mortal Kombat 1 will continue to attract new players as well as thrill our core fans.”

“Mortal Kombat 1 marks a new beginning for the franchise and we couldn’t be more excited to share this original storyline and fresh take on classic characters with our fans,” added Ed Boon, Chief Creative Officer, NetherRealm Studios and Co-Creator of Mortal Kombat. “We’re also introducing our Kameo Fighter system which brings a unique roster of partner characters into the mix, and we are looking forward to showing this feature as well as more new elements of the game very soon.”

Mortal Kombat 1 is now available for pre-order on all launch platforms.

I’m going to take this with a grain of salt, for now.
Still, IF it’s true, let’s take a moment to appreciate the effort Netherealm goes through to obtain the licenses.

That’s what ruined the last MK for me. It became more about who the next trendy celebrity guest star that will be available to buy instead of making a good fun interesting game.

If true, I'm totally here for this. Both of these characters would have some great one-liners and intros.

Is there really much point of having both Omniman and Homelander?

Might as well just make it superman and have the two of them be alternate skins

It might seem redundant but man…seeing Homelander and Omni-Man fight is gonna be a real awesome treat. It’ll be interesting to see how Omni-Man looks rendered all realistically and if they will get JK Simmons and Antony Starr to play their characters

@Asterisk - I have faith, they got Keith Richard's for Spawn, Stallone for Rambo and Welling for Robocop, but they couldn't get Arnie for Terminator soo idk

Mk took this fighting game to another level. Not just for themselves, but for the entertainment industry as a whole.

I hope other beloved, popular franshices take notes. THIS IS HOW YOU REBOOT.

PS: Imma need INJUSTICE 3.

Imma also need Baraka, Sho'Nuff, Pinhead, and John Wick as playable characters.
