When the first
Sonic the Hedgehog trailer was released, no one really took much notice of what was happening in it; instead, they were far too distracted by the iconic video game character's awful new design. After that received an overwhelmingly negative response online, it didn't take too long until the movie's director confirmed that they were going back to the drawing board.
That understandably resulted in Sonic the Hedgehog being delayed as the movie's VFX artists essentially had to resdesign the hero and make him look a lot more like what we're used to seeing.
Well, two new trailers and a poster have been released today and, as you can see, Sonic now looks like...Sonic! The human teeth and creepy legs are gone and, in their place, is a version of the character which looks like it's been pulled straight from the video games. Needless to say, this is bound to make fans happy and the movie itself definitely looks like it should be a fun ride.
It's definitely a relief to see Sonic looking more like his usual self but this version appears to be quite a bit more cartoonish, a sign perhaps that some finishing touches need to be made to the fur in order to make him feel like a creature who could actually exist in the real world.
