At most major film festivals, mini-short films called 'bumpers' typically play before the screenings. Most are always intriguing and get you in the mood to watch the upcoming film, but some are flat out hilarious. This is where Mario enters.
The quick 2-minute video plays out almost like a movie trailer, if Super Mario Bros. had been converted into a deep, artsy, indie movie (featuring all the cliche's and tropes most associate with that genre). On top of being incredibly funny and witty, it actually makes me really want to see what a full on Mario Bros. movie in this style would look like. The word 'epic' comes to mind. Just check out the video (created by Joe Nicolosi) and tell me if I'm wrong....
Within just two minutes it almost completely makes up for the terrible SMB movie we got all those years ago. Almost.
