Although I am geeked about this news I'm not sure that this will fix the current franchise's problems.

Spanish news site Europa press is reporting that producers of the upcoming Tomb Raider movie are considering replacing Angelina Jolie with Megan Fox.

This news rocks. I love Megan Fox. And when I say that I mean love. Megan was one of the reason's Transformers was such a huge success. She was one of the movies key characters and turned in a solid performance. Megan is the most pleasant piece of eye candy to look at and on top of that she's not annoying like all those other Hills girls.

Although I am geeked about this news I'm not sure that this will fix the current franchise's problems. Angelina Jolie was great as Lara Croft. Her performance was the reason why the movie was as successful as it was. This franchise is going to need a reboot, solid script, and a solid director to maybe be finally considered on the memorable list of movie franchises.

The new Tombraider movie is scheduled to start filming in 2010 with a release sometime in the summer of 2011.

Hmmmmm... don't know if 'little Ms. Autobot' could pull off a successful British accent. Don't get me wrong, she IS smokin' hot, but she seems a bit... young for the part. Plus the whole accent thing IS an added bonus / turn-on. GOD, I just hope she doesn't sound like Kevin Costner trying to fumble his way through 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves' (or was that 'Men in Tights'? I can never keep those two stright - they were both so damn ridiculous!)

Its safe to say i would watch miss Fox in a 2 hour infomercial for pile cream...especially if she was demonstrating how to apply it! BUT i dont know about this...Jolie was indeed the only reason for watching either of those train wrecks and i dont think Megan has nearly the same screen presence as that damn Goddess!

Also, i dont really care either way and dont know why i left this comment!

I think Meagan Fox is the most sexy actress since Jolie and that it is natural to move to her. I personally don't care how they make the movie, I will see it just to watch Fox run around bulging out of her clothes. As Rorschach put it, "Its safe to say i would watch miss Fox in a 2 hour infomercial for pile cream...especially if she was demonstrating how to apply it!" I will lap this shyt up lol. I don't have high expectations on any movie based on a video game either. That said, it's hard to be disappointed about this.

They can change Croft over to Fox just as much as they changed from Brosnan to Craig. It will make money and that's all that matters. Jolie IS over rated and Fox is just inexperienced. I think it's a fair trade! Hell i can't wait for them to change Indiana jones! Ford is way over the hill!!! Bring in Orlando Bloom or somethin' i dunno!

No way angelina jolie is Lara Croft she is fine as hell in that movie and i know Megan FOx wont do as good a job as angelina i gotta say booooo on this one BUT Megan Fox is my future wife so im in a weird spot THIS SUUUXXXXXXXXX.

Shaman i agree Ford should make Crystal Skull his last stint in the hat. But orlando Bloom suffers from an incurable case of Inabilitytoactitis. Its prob going to be Shia Labouf taking over if more movies are made.

I think LaBouf fit the role of Indy pretty well in Crystal Skull. He's a decent actor and i've always liked his performances in the "action" genre.

Harrison needs to hop in the producers seat, I was so mad when he snatched his hat back from LaBouf at the end. They ruined what could've been a great transition in my opinion. And now i've heard that he will definitely be in the next one!....wtf dude, give it up.

Megan is hot, micheal bay wanted her for the role on transformers becuase she had a nice stomach, she is the hottest actress i have seen on the big screen in a long time, i think she is a great actress, BUT as laura croft i dont think so she can pull off the look and the bod, but She does not have the TITS for the part. come on im not a perv or a shallow man, but laura croft first trade mark was her tits, thats why the game playable beside it being fun cuz it was fun, but we played to see digital tits on screen, jollie was perfect for that role cuz she looks like her and when we heard she was playing croft we were all like [frick] ya, but megan is close but its all in the tits and im really sorry to say that, cuz i like megan fox alot.

I agree... Megan Fox is extremely hot, but she just isn't Laura Croft, she does not have the boobs to play Laura. Sorry, but its the truth. It wouldn't be as much of an abomination as Beyonce as Wonder Woman, but its still bad casting.

You guys really think Megan would have trouble holding a "smoking hot gun" or do the flips and rolls. Come on people.

For one, the gun would not be "smoking hot", the handle stays quite cool when firing a pistol. All of the flips Angie did in those films were wire assisted, and I think Megan could handle that. Im sure she would do the same prep that Angie did. So she would come in ready to rock. Just becasue we have not seen her do that stuff, doesnt mean she cant. Remember Angie had not done any big action flicks before she did Tomb Raider. In fact, she was coming off of Girl, Interrupted, which she won an Oscar for.

As for the accent. As someone that never played the games, and just liked looking at Angie. I could care less if Laura has a british or french accent. Why cant Laura be American? We dont have treasure hunters in this country?

I guess Roar would say that Caroll had a bad case of inabilitytoactitis. You need more than a nice ass in this business... Of course, this detail doesn't seem to apply to Rose McGowan but anyhoo. I love Megan Fox as much as the next guy but this is a role she needs to stay away from. This role was MADE for Angelina and it should stay hers. She's the only actress bad ass enough to play Laura Croft and no one will top her. Sorry

Inabilitytoactitis... tee-hee-hee...maybe...lol... I hve never seen Alison Caroll act so I dont know. I only heard they'd picked her already & she looked credible in the pictures like the videogame. Megan Foxx isnt too good an actress either but then again maybe because of her inexperience? she could get better with time. She doesnt look like Lara though. As Wonder Girl yes...but not Lara. Angelina has so many kids now but if she wanted to she could do it. Why cant Bradbabysit...ha-ha or get more nannies.

And she's not a baaaad actress which means she's not a gooooood one either. But i "firmly" remember Lara not having that many lines herself in those movies so Jolie didn't have much acting ability shown there. That role doesn't require Fox to be that talented and it makes her a nice li'l runner up. But as for looks go, i think we can all remember what she looked like working under the hood of that car with a pony tail. Give her a miraculous push-up bra, torn jean-shorts, a teal tank-top, guns and BOOM, not too shabby!

Angelina Jolie; getting old, she lost a lot of healthy weight, and her sexier days are behind her, yet still a great actress.
Megan Fox; young,fresh, and extremely sexy in her prime years,has yet 2 deliver a notable proformance tho.

remember this, most of tomb raider's success is of Laura Crofts sexy image,so it makes sense, Sides who is really gonna see this movie for the acting!!

It is true, the Tomb Raider movies aren't acting focused, just sexy, action and exotic locations. I am sure Megan can nail both the sexy and the action, it's up to the production crew to nail the exotic locations.

The only people who really want to see Megan Fox playing Lara Croft are men thinking with their little heads. Come on.
Can't they at least get someone that the rest of us can take seriously? Besides, the girl has screwed up her face with all that plastic surgery. And she's too young. Lara is supposed to have extensive knowledge about history and archaeology - the actress should at least look old enough to have spent time in school as well as traveling the world and gaining the rest of her know-how.
What's the point of re-booting the series if they're just going to dumb them down even further by going with Fox?

Personally I would pick Rhona Mitra. Her star is rising and she even used to be the Lara Croft model.

So it make sense they get a younger actress, however Minxie has a point in that her acting is SO-SO. Still, you never know.
