Continuing their character spotlight coverage of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, GameInformer has released two new gameplay videos from the upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusive. The new videos focus on Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen, two fan-favorite Spider-Verse characters.

Thanks to Sony's hit animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Miles Morales is now a household name, and he's easly one of the most exciting characters to be featured in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3.

The "next generation wall-crawler," Miles is an acrobatic and agile hero with most of his abilities unleashing electrical attacks, which stun or paralyze enemies. His "Surprise Strike" ability turns Miles invisible as he closes in on enemies with a strike that unleashes a burst of electricity. "High Voltage Lines" shoots a barrage of electrified webs at enemies in front of him.

Spider-Gwen, aka Gwen Stacy, is another Spider-Verse character that has also grown in popularity recently.

Debuting in 2014's Edge of Spider-Verse #2, Spider-Gwen was also a star in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Like Miles Morales, she's also an acrobatic character who excels in "getting out of danger quickly." Her abilities emphasize ranged attacks, and allow for a more defensive approach to combat. Many of her attacks also emphasize area of effect damage, making her useful in chipping away at large groups of enemies.

Both Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen, along with the rest of the Spider-Family characters, can swing across the environments with their webs. Unlike flying with other characters, this does not consume your mana.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order features a roster of over 27 playable characters drawn from The AvengersX-MenSpider-Verse, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more. Other confirmed characters include Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, Nick Fury, Rocket Raccoon and Groot (as a combined character), Captain Marvel, Star-Lord, and Ms. Marvel. It's also possible that this number could grow should Nintendo release DLC post-launch.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch on July 19, 2019.

Is this timed exclusive for the Switch? I hope this game gets a release on other consoles in the future

@bcom - Nintendo has the license to the ultimate alliance name, and that’s all Sony, Square Enix, And anybody else making Marvel games for console own the license to. The names of the characters, not the characters themselves. Hence how Nintendo is able to use all these Spider Man characters(including Peter) without Sony’s permission. And same with Square Enix in Avengers Project, they’ll have their own Peter Parker on the Avengers roster, but they’re saying he’ll be fresh in college and Gwen will have recently died so he’s dating MJ in college.
