Confirmed via an investor call with Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot is the news that a new Assassin’s Creed title is in development and is set for release some time in 2011. Though Ubisoft has been very forthcoming with their feelings towards the franchise – saying they hope to release Assassin´s Creed titles as frequently as possible – most gamers didn’t expect to see them crank another one out quite so fast.

The company dropped the news during its Q3 earnings call overnight, where it also teased that the first details that the new game would arrive in May.

“We will have an Assassin’s Creed this year. We are going to give you more details in May.” said Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft

Well it looks like Assassin´s Creed Brotherhood is faring better than Assassin’s Creed II in terms of revenue, though has shipped fewer units. Ubisoft expects Brotherhood to sell roughly 7-7.5 million units, putting it around 1-1.5 million units behind its predecessor.
