5. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation

The first one was fine. Done very nicely. But when this one came out...dear jesus. Damn near every actor was recast, the dialog sucked, and the final fight scene when they turn into dragons. Lets just hope that if the 3rd one ever gets made, they put more time, effort, and money into it.

4. Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun Li

I watched this movie for the first time two days ago. I thought it was ok but the casting of this movie was just completely wrong. The only person that fit there role was Micheal Clarke Duncun.

3. Resident Evil: Apocalypse

Everyone told me this movie would suck. I said no it can't its Resident Evil, the writers are going to learn from the first one and build on it. No. they didn not do that. They turned Nemesis into a little bitch! How the hell are you going to do that? Then they gave Alice superpowers. WTF?! Resident Evil isn't about superpowers and being able to jump super high! Just because Weskert does it, doesn't mean that other characters should do it. Some say the 3rd one was horrible, actually the 3rd one was waaaaaay better then the second! The 1st one 7/10 the 2nd 3/10 and the 3rd one 6/10

2. SuperMario Bros

What can I say? This movie was just done completely wrong. I mean...did the writers of this even hear about the game called super mario?

One big pile of crap-tastic shit! This was possibley the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. At first there a bunch of ugly ass college students going to a rave or whatever the next, there gun slinging badasses! Graphics horrible, casting horrible, acting horrible, script horrible. If you liked it, more power to you. I hated it!

i agree. they need to remake the resident evil franchise more like the first video game.i hear they plan on doing just that, called resident evil begins.

and they need to keep the action down in the resident evil remake and make it creepy like the rooms in the first game.they need the hunters,the plant and other experiments,and a tyrant experiment that does not speak.

I think they should make a new Maro Movie.

They should start it off in Live action, you see shadows of Mario and Luigi.Then they land into the Mushroom Kingdom and help Princess Peach.They could use animation for when they go into the Mushroom kingdom and use the same voice actors as in the games.

I LOVED SUPER MARIO BROS... as a action/kid movie... not as a movie based on a game lol it was not source strong at all!

not only was the acting horrible in street fighter the film feels half finished.
in the scene where bison is using one of his subordinates as a punching bag, you can clearly see the wires that are keeping her balanced.
although it does have a good ending that could lead to a sequel i pray that the studios will realize what a piece of crap it was and just wait a few years for someone to actually manage to stay faithful to the story and the characters.
as for mortal kombat, i had heard a few months ago that the franchise would be rebooted. or updated. or remade. call it what you like i just know that mortal kombat has a load of potential in hollywood given the chance. just watch the first movie.

I don't think you can limit this to just five, too many shitty game movies out there; Doom, Street Fighter (Van Damme) Double Dragon, Tomb Raider, Bloodrayne, Dead or Alive, and Max Payne.

I think that's all.

Two words, MAX PAYNE! I know you're probably thinking "the worst movies based on games". But as a gamer the only game I thought no, scratch that, KNEW would make a good movie was Max Payne. I saw the movie for the first time a few days ago, and oh man, anyone who played Max Payne and saw the film knows exactly the train wreck I'm describing. Resident Evil still sucked pretty bad though.

Must I only pick 5? I think there are only 2 that are even passable as "decent" movies: The first Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat. I'm being generous on those two. I think Prince of Persia has potential, but we'll have to see on that one.

The top three worst should be anything Uwe Boll has done. It's no surprise that his shitty flick is at number one on Revenge's list, but one should also make room for BloodRayne, Alone in the Dark, Postal, BloodRayne2 and then start going down the list of Mario Bros., Street Fighter, Doom, Mortal Kombat2, Dead or Alive etc. etc.


Silent Hill was good.

With SUPER MARIO BROS., I give the filmmakers a lot of credit for trying. There weren't other VG-movies being made at the time, and there's very little in the games that translate to live-action film anyway, so it was going to be kind of a shot in the dark no matter what they did.

I agree with everything you said except Resident Evil. I liked it! You kinda called yourself out too. You said that Resident Evil wasn't about super powers, but then you said, "Just because Wesker does it, doesn't mean that other characters should do it". Then it is about super powers. I mean that's what Umbrella was all about. Making humanity better, they weren't "trying" to make zombies

This list needs to be expanded to 10, or 15. Stumblin knows whats up. The Bloodrayne movies, even though Loken shows her boobies, the first Street Fighter, Double Dragon. Should have had Resident Evil: Extinction instead of Nemes...er Apocalypse.

Don't forget House of the Dead 2. That was even worse than the first one. One of the worst I've seen recently was Hitman. They used stock footage from the Dark Angel tv show. At least all of the other movies were 100% original crap.

Oh and I just thought of Wing Commander with Freddie Prinze Jr and ...uh...the dude that played Shaggy. Mathew Lillard. Hopefully Prince of Persia will be at least watchable. I have high hopes for that movie.

@X - did you really think marky mark was the worst part of maxpayne? I didn't think it was all that bad casting. Now removing the gunfights, the slo-mo john woo action, and noir style internal narration on the other hand....

OOH! They removed half the game's plot, changed the half they kept, and COMPLETELY altered the effects of valkyre (street drug in the game, super soldier serum in the movie?)
