The Xbox One will not support external storage at launch, though it will be added later. The future plan is for definitely to support external storage much like we do on the Xbox 360.The Xbox One comes with a 500GB internal harddrive as standard that cannot be replaced, though at the console's announcement back in March it was confirmed external storage could be connected via the USB 3.0 port to use for game installs and downloads.

Are you worried that you'll blitz through the console's 500GB before the ability to use external storage is added, or are you confident Microsoft has it under control? How do you guys feel about this show your opinion on the coments section.

Already pre-ordered PS4, only reason I would get a XB1 is because of Dead Rising 3. But that can wait.

I work in electronic sales. I see the numbers. Dont be surprised if this is a huge letdown for Sony. The Ps3 has a better Processor and the games are on Blue Ray discs. Yet, the system doesn't utilize either. Sonys hurting right now. The Vita was a failure in the U.S. I own both systems. The only reason I game on my X box more is because I pay for X box live, but I also like X box lives features more too. My Ps3 only gets used as a Blue Ray player now. So the X box One will have a Blue Ray player in it too, and to play Ps4 multiplayer you will HAVE to pay a subscription. The X box One comes with the new Kinect, The Ps4 doesn't come with the new Move. So there's the reason for the hundred dollar price difference. Yes the Ps4 will have better RAM, but it most likely won't get utilized like before, because most games will be cross platform. If your a huge fan of Uncharted, Killzone, God of War, or Resistance go for it. Not telling you not too, I'm justtired of hearing people every single day say that one systems going to beat the other one. They both have pros and cons. This article informs us on a new con for the X box One. Thank you for that. I'm simply stating a fact, Sony is taking a huge risk with this system. I myself am going to get the X box One and play the shit out of Halo 5!

Sorry but Ps3 games will be around for a while. Just like the Ps 2 games did. People don't like to be force fed big jumps like that. Sonys numbers would drop. Just like when X box said you wouldn't be able to trade your games in cause they would be downloads, people went nuts. And X box said, just kidding, games on disc it is!

Your opinion is not stupid. Just at this time misguided. Android is actually taking Apples place as the most widely used operating system. Apple hasn't brought anything new to the table and Android is constantly pushing. It helps that theres so many different distributors for Android. Samsung, LG, Motorola etc. Apple has a chance to change it with their next phone, but they need to bring something new to the table. I have more people switching from Apple to Android at the moment.

Wait for the Note 3. That thing will be a beast. Unless Apple does something awesome.

@Wylee - "Sony is taking a huge risk with this system" Don't take this personally, but my God you sound dumb on the whole basis of that argument! For a person working in electronic sales, you should know better... wtf are you on dude? As much as I acknowledge some of the features that are prevalent on both consoles, you on the other hand... Let's just say Microsoft has crawled so far up into your arsehole, snuck up there tightly, you probably didn't even have a clue what they were about to do to us consumers; completely oblivious. All that bullshit, tsk tsk tsk. You really see the numbers don't you.
WYLEEJAY
WYLEEJAY - 9/2/2013, 12:02 PM
Yes I do. The numbers have dropped on the Ps3 considerably. And the Vita HAS performed poorly. Your probably one of tn ose people that believes everything your force fed. Like when the Sony Ps3 took out the reverse compatability feature, and Sony said it was so they could drop the price on the system for the customers. Yeah that wasn't the entire truth. People continued to buy the Ps2 versions of the games instead of the Ps3 versions. Their sales were bad, so they came up with the drop the price for the customer story to force people to buy the Ps3 versions. And it worked. Its called business. And I'm not a blind Microsoft fanboy. Told you I own both systems. Apparently you only read a small part of what I wrote. So next time pay closer attention before you say something you THINK is going to sound smart.

Are you guys starting a slow clap, because I can't hear it on the internet.
Durranto
Durranto - 9/2/2013, 12:45 PM
@WYLEEJAY sorry, I have to disagree with you. I own both an Xbox 360 and a PS3 (and an Xbox 1 and PS2), I have no real allegiance to either, I just like to play games. That said.... having a Kinect is not a bonus in my opinion. I have one for the 360, used it a few times for the bowling games and Halo anniversary edition, but now its gathering dust and not been used as there is bugger all games that I would play that utilise it in a way that it would actually benefit me in playing a game. So the Xboner lost points for me there as I can not see them doing anything worth while with it. And I am sure I can press a button quicker than I can say "grenade" like in Halo Anniversary edition.
Also, you pointed out with the PS4 you will need to pay to play online.... you have always had to pay for the 360. At least with the Playstation Plus you get a selection of pretty decent games to download each month (which xbox has now copied I may add...)
And with regards to the RAM on the PS4, the new console (Xboner as well I may add) is built like a PC to allow easier ports of PC games and so the developers can create the games easier. The PS3 was notorious for being a very difficult console to code for, hence why some features were never taken advantage of.
Each time a new generation of console comes out, the games get a lot bigger, so 500gb I think is a bit on the low side and the choice to upgrade would be nice (even if it does mean buying a new hdd in some contraption to make Microsoft more money) but if the PS4 goes the same way, I'll be as equally disappointed.
Anyways, I'll be getting both as they both have games I will want to play the hell out of! Both consoles will be hits in their own way, cant see either of them doing a Nintendo on our asses!
One last thing WYLEEJAY... I agree with your recommendation of the Note 3.... it will boss the hell out of Iphone (again!) I only have the Note 1 at the mo, I'll be getting 3 once my contract ends mid next year.

@Durranto. Thank you sir for not being a huge douchbag with your comments. Yeah if the Kinect doesn't do it for you then your wasting a hundred bucks. To buy it separately though it would most likely cost more. The 360 bundles usually saved you fifty bucks. If you have zero interest in it, that's your opinion, not a fact. Like I said before, apparently the comment that the other dude didn't read, both systems have pros and cons. Just like the previous systems. The fact that X box was gonna force people to go online even if they didn't want to, well that didn't last very long. Microsoft is listening. They fixed it. I was mad too. For my customers. I'm not gonna sit here and say one systems better than the other, all I was saying, is that Sony is hurting at the moment, and if this system doesn't do huge sales, its network will go downhill really fast, and the people that already have the system will suffer. Somebody else tried to turn it into a fanboy hate thing.

"If you have zero interest in it, that's your opinion, not a fact". I don't think that sentence came out the way I meant it. Your opinion is fact to you. What I mean is your opinion isn't fact to others. That make more sense? Same with my opinion. That you don't like the Kinect shouldn't categorize it as a bad system. The lack of useful games for the Kinect may, but we will have to wait and see what they do with the new one.

Lol, no probs, I dont mind being a minor douchbag...
I got the Kinect for my missus as she likes bowling but doesn't like going out (go figure!!) but even she hardly uses it. It baffles me that they are forcing it on people and charging them more because of it. They could sell so many more Xboners if they sold the Kinect separately, and made it cheaper for those that do not want it, that's my main gripe with the Xboner to be honest. They haven't released anything worthwhile with the current one so am not very confident that they will on the new one. I will happily be surprised if they do though. It does, however, have better exclusive launch titles than the PS4.
I am more likely to get a PS4 first as its cheaper, and wait for the Xboner to go down in price (or for Microsoft to go back on another thing and release just the console...)
From what I have read, both systems are pretty much built the same way, so it'll be the games that will be the decider I reckon. The Xboner will have a massive surge should they release that projector for it - http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/projects/illumiroom/

Killuminatic - 9/2/2013, 1:40 PM
I'm not even gonna continue with this given the fact that you've already spoken out of your ass with your previous comments, and yes, I did read everything . I suggest you go and read about how hardware works for both systems firstly, as then you'll know how it actually works; next gen and previous gen. Also, I'd like to point out that the PS3 lifetime sales have already overtaken XBox 360 sales (And even possibly rising - due to far superior exclusives and transitioning into next gen sales also, due to certain backlash with the competition) so I don't think your numbers are quite accurate. Also, I don't know why you've just started nitpicking on the PS3 regarding backwards compatibility and minor whatnot, when you could just say the same for the XBox. In addition, the fat 60GB PS3 models still have backwards compatibility.
I have yet to see you say something negative about the Xbox... Let's face it, you're a fanboy. I'm not the one being force fed bullshit dude, and then believing it.

I don't know why you're getting so proud and full of yourself as we never really got to a resolve, and never will. I only wanted to point out how dumb you initially sounded when you gave your overview on the consoles, cause you really don't know anything do you? Just read some of the things you said about the BLU ray player and the RAM, and also paying for the multiplayer aspect and look into all those things carefully, I'm not gonna point them out on the net. You don't know the full picture on BOTH sides do you?
Anyhow, I'll be getting both consoles. I'll be paying for PS Plus, already am now as it is actually a really good service. And maybe, maybe even Live also due to the dedicated servers. But then again, will I have money to throw around next year? Who knows, who knows... Regardless of all this, hope to see you on the battelfield or wherever ;)

Peace.

Durranto has managed to point out some the basics and features of the consoles so I hope it's helpful Wylee. Oh and I like to add, PS4 will also include a collection of free to play titles, which also have high acclaim on the PC; and as these titles are all online based, it's actually upto the devs of these titles to allow people to have access to the multiplayer, without needing a PS Plus membership. Games like the massive Planetside 2, won't need PS Plus alongside others. You should also read about the Xbox One's new indie program where they have revised some of their policy and it supports free to play games also.

@Killuminatic, ummmm......seriously, there's no real reason to be an a**hole about this. Wyleejay doesn't even remotely sound like a fanboy to me. He gave his opinion about the pros & cons of the systems, and what he is personally seeing with the numbers. It is possible that what he sees, wherever he lives and works, does not match national or international numbers. That is no reason to be a jerk. Take a few lessons from Durranto about how to respectively disagree with someone. (Although, @Durranto, is it really necessary to call it an Xboner? Not classy.)

@Lhornbk. Thank you kindly sir.

@Killuminatic. I pointed out two flaws to microsofts pre plans to release. And none for the Ps4. So....uh.....are you okay? I mean....I'm sorry for embarrassing you earlier....do you need someone to talk to? I'm generally a friendly guy. If not, well just keep trying man, a woman is bound to say yes sooner or later.

I'm sorry to you all, as I have obviously offended a Sony fanboy with my comments. I was simply stating that Sonys at risk. Not that I want to see that happen. If that wasn't obvious enough, again, I apologize to you that are clinically sane.
Killuminatic
Killuminatic - 9/2/2013, 5:00 PM
@Wylee, You did not offend me, nor did I intend to offend you if you've felt that way. If you read the last parts of my comment, I actually tried NOT to sound like an asshole dude, cause at the end of the day we're all gamers. I'm far from a Sony fanboy as a matter of fact, I just thought that the risks you state of were pretty much ridiculous looking at the state both consoles are in, so I fully take that comment back about you being "dumb". Clearing the fog, I will honestly say that the tired grumpy mood I was in at the time of the comments vented my perception of your opinions on the matter, so yes, I should've acted more like Durranto and elaborated on some of the things you may have been wrong about. So my apologies to all of you, and Wylee, I did try and clear it all out and be helpful with some additional info on my last comment.

Awesome! That's just awesome man. And I apologize for my sense of humor. My wife doesn't even bother arguing with me cause it usually ends with her just waving her fist at me and mumbling something that I'm pretty sure isn't English. Tis cool brah.

Ps4 is using GDDR5 for graphics processing, graphically it's more powerful. Xbone is using DDR3 and in terms of overall teraflops it's lagging behind PS4 badly. In the UK PS4 is number 1 game related purchase/preorder on Amazon, xbone is 8.

And yes, PS Vita failed but remote play makes me very happy. That means I'll be able to play Watch Dogs remotely while the missus is watching TV or while my boy watches cbeebies.

Also, M$ has been touting cloud processing as capable of improving graphics... That's simply not true. May make a difference in AI, but graphically it's negligible.

Besides, xbox360 games won't work on the xbone either. And on top of that, it won't require PS+ for all online games. That's at the discretion of the game developer. DCUO, Planetside 2, Warframe and Blacklight for example won't require a PS+ subscription. However, I already play £4 a month for PS+. I like having 6 AAA titles for free every month. M$ on the other hands, will give Live subscribers a copy of Assassin's Creed 2. Next year. AC3 is already available for free on PS+.

I've had both systems, but I won't be investing on a xbone. I already have a tv box which I don't use to play games. It's a Skybox (kinda like ur Tivo for the Yanks). The xbone is more expensive, less powerful and backtracks on its moneygrubbing schemes due to customer backlash.

Oh, forgot to mention Naughty Dog and Quantic Dream. You won't see anything as good as Last of Us on the xbone. Apart from Gears of War there's no exclusive I really would want to play.
WYLEEJAY
WYLEEJAY - 9/3/2013, 5:44 PM
@Gunslinger. K. We kind of already talked about the things that are better on the Ps4. So, the Ps3 was more powerful than the 360. Like stated before, the Ps3 didn't UTILIZE that power. Therefore it was a waste. I'm hoping the Ps4 does what their saying it will this time. That would make it a lot easier to sell the units. The games are all objective. If you like Halo like me, that doesn't make the Ps4 a bad system. If you like Uncharted that doesn't make the x box a bad system. If you have no interest in the Kinect, then save your money, cause that's the real reason the x box is weaker, yet still more expensive. I like the Kinect, Halo, and Gears the most. Killzone was the only Ps3 title I played the shit out of. I'm not gonna say the Ps3 is shit because of that.

The fact is sales are lacking on the Ps3. At one point they were higher than the x box. Now there not. So presales doesn't justify anything. The system HAS to keep those numbers up. Sony pictures was hurting so bad they were considering selling off some of their movie franchises. Their in a better place now. But their other merchandise is also declining in sales. Tv's reviews are not as good as they used to be, the Sony Walkman brand is harder to find. When they used to be in every store. Thank you for that I pod. Less for me to sell. Lower numbers now. Sony NEEDS this system to kick ass.
