More good news for Wonder Woman today as it's been revealed that the DC Comics adaptation has passed $400 million at the domestic box office. This is a figure which many movies can only dream of and means that the Amazon warrior's first solo outing is going to pass the first Spider-Man as the sixth highest domestic grossing superhero movie of all-time. Why is that a big deal? Well, it's because the top five all star Iron Man and Batman so Wonder Woman is now in some very popular company!

Ahead of its release, Wonder Woman was surrounded by a lot of negativity but it exceeded expectations in every way and is now widely considered one of the best superhero movies yet.

In other box office news, The Dark Tower managed to earn $19.5 million this weekend. That's actually better than expected but with a budget of $66 million and an 18% score on Rotten Tomatoes, the Stephen King adaptation now faces an uphill struggle to turn a profit. We'll have to wait and see how it does internationally, though, as it could ultimately earn enough for a sequel to be developed.

Great! Still haven't seen the movie, though. They could have promote the film more here in Europe. I think the overseas performance is relatively weak due bad marketing.

@Unites - It's only weak when you compare it to how much it is overperforming domestically. I mean it's going to make as much as Suicide Squad & Deadpool made overseas.

Any way you look at it, it's a box office smash hit.

Just shows that people are interested in the DCEU and if the movies don't disappoint, they can be huge.

For once, 'murica did something right, certainly better than us noobs! :P
I'll always root for CBMs, even if i don't like every movie, better them than, say, a Transformers movie or something like that.
But in this case, WW's success was quite important, not just for a CBM pov, but in general, cause we all know how hollywood thinks sometimes, and it was important to send the message, having a big BO worlwide is important, but a domestic BO success it's even more special (like always).
So good job everyone! To those who worked behind WW and everyone who awarded this movie with their (repeated?)viewings!
I had my doubts tbh...And we should do the same thing for Black Panther, but honestly, i'm pretty confident that it will do good.

So right now Wonder Woman is barely above Suicide Squad. 793 to 745 from what I can see. Thank God WW isn't done yet, because those 2 movies being "tied" really annoys the [frick] out of me.

Special congrats to Chris Pine. I've always felt indifferent about him, and also about Steve Trevor (they made a mess of him in so many stories), but he was flawless in this movie. I had no idea he could be this good, and IMO, his performance is a big part of the movie's success.

@Deschain99 - aha nah, I was just trying to beat someone to the punch, in case someone cared enough about my bitching to screenshot one of my pre-release rants.

I was really against gadot. That was a mistake.

@ALostCause - Lol. I see. I remember I was more curious about her acting in general than anything else. One of my favorite scenes for her was when she kept coming at those all those general in the war room.

Good times.
And by the way if anybody has a screens shot of Lost please post. heh heh heh.

Dunkirk (second place in Box Office) is hard movie to rate after first viewing.
one hour, 46 minutes yet there is so much going on in this movie. visually definitely stunning. performances were also great. if i would choose one the actors that should be nominated for Oscar in supporting role it would be either Mark Rylance or Tom Glynn-Carney who played his son.

not sure about Zimmer music though. for me it sounded rather like some long sound effect.
it's really different from everything Hollywood movies are offering today. maybe that's why it was really weird experience to me - listening to that music i mean.

but like i said ... i think the movie should be seen at least twice.

@jerryblake - Junkie XK rubbed off on him lol. I wasn't the biggest fan of Dunkirk. It was a very good movie, don't get me wrong. But I definitely left the theatre (and at home the second time I watched it) feeling let down.
