David E Kelley's Wonder Woman Lives?

The veteran showrunner is optimistic that his vision for a Wonder Woman tv series will still happen, despite the pretty major setback reported on this week...

Even though broadcast networks passed on his script this week David E Kelley still sounds pretty sure Wonder Woman will make it to our tv screens next year..

"I think the likelihood is we'll see it next year, I'm being optimistic but I don't think I'm being unrealistic."

Kelley said that he was going to bring the project back to NBC, who reportedly passed first time around. But he maintains that the script being "rolled out very late in the game" may have had something to do with this.

From The Hollywood Reporter..

He(Kelley) said that the network(ABC), premiering his new legal drama Harry's Law on Monday, which he was promoting at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, would be a "good home for it" under incoming programming chief Robert Greenblatt.

"I like to think of it as a smart script and I know he responds to smart material," Kelley said Thursday of his vision in which Wonder Woman would be explored as a "real complex woman and not just a superhero."
Kelley also mentioned that it's a "possibility" Wonder Woman could land at cable.

What do you think? Is there still a chance we will see Princess Diana grace our screens, or is this just wishful thinking on Kelley's part? Many fans actually sounded relieved that a tv show wasn't on the cards anymore, under the impression that it might make DC Entertainment and WB wake up to the fact that its a movie that the majority want to see. Of course we could always have both, but if it has to be one of the other, I'm going with the bigger screen.

I would much rather see her get a live action movie, but a live action show could be just as good. I think it would be awesome to potentially have an Incredible Hulk show and Wonder Woman show on tv at the same time.

I think a Wonder Woman show would be best suited for AMC and not any of the regular networks.Unfortunately its not the late 70's/80's when people used to like watching these kind of shows. Now everybody just wants to watch dramatic sh*t all the time.So it would be a perfect fit for AMC and not ABC,NBC,CBS or FOX,because you see how much they destroy our sci-fi & superhero genre shows. EXAMPLES:Dollhouse,Terminator:T.S.C.C.,KnightRider,Bionic Woman & many others.I honestly don't think they care for these types of shows,so I don't even know why they waste their time. They will promote them for a little at the beginning, and then slowly break off from them.

Terminator:T.S.C.C.,KnightRider and Bionic Woman were all good series which deserved much more.

Too bad ratings anxious TV studio executives are just that.

I would love for this to happen.

Kelley is one of my favorite TV creators ever, so seeing his Wonder Woman on the small screen would be fantastic.

His announcement as showrunner was (aside from Whedon on Avengers) the best, most surprising news last year.

I also think there should be the movie first! If done right, it would be beyond epic! If there MUST be a TV series, PLEASE don't use the current costume/storyline!

A movie isn't going to happen unless this show gets on TV and becomes popular or the character debuts on Smallville and gets a following that way.

I don't see a cable network picking the show up except SyFy but they won't give them much of a budget.
