WONDER WOMAN: Check Out The Awesome Comic-Con Exclusive Ares Funko Pop Vinyl Figure

Funko has unveiled another batch of Comic-Con exclusives, but one worth highlighting is this long overdue Pop featuring the villainous Ares from the recently released Wonder Woman movie...

Heading into Wonder Woman, we only got to see Ares in toy form. As it turns out, that action figure wasn't particularly accurate as the villain was neither massive or had his face concealed in darkness, but that was likely a result of Warner Bros. wanting to do everything within their power to keep the villain's true identity a secret. This Funko Pop also hides the God of War's face but is still awesome.

It's only set to go on sale at Comic-Con, but will likely find its way onto eBay and select stores shortly after the annual event. Other Pops currently available for Wonder Woman include a variety of different takes on Diana Prince, Steve Trevor, Queen Hippolyta, and a very, very hard to find Doctor Poison.

Interestingly, Funko will also be releasing a Suicide Squad Pop featuring The Joker dressed as Batman. A Hot Toys action figure featured the Clown Prince of Crime in the same costume so we now have to wonder if this was indeed taken from an earlier version of the movie before those extensive reshoots. If so, it's fair to say it would have been a unique scene had it not ended up on the cutting room floor with the rest of Jared Leto's performance. What do you guys think of these Comic-Con exclusives?

All Gods do...eventually...

@Doomsday8888 - I always liked that idea in comics. I ended up playing with it a bit in a ghost rider TV show idea I had a few months ago.

It's an interesting concept, what happens in comics when a god dies? It usually goes one of two ways

1. reforms eventually, as its a vital part of nature
2. is replaced by a new god, or as I call it, "the santa clause"

Its very interesting when you get that big in fiction.

@Doomsday8888 - They went into the idea in the Justice League Darkseid War arc in the comics.

@noahthegrand -
WOW nice job!
And yes, i agree with you, same thing that happened in WW new 52 by Azzarello, when DIANA became God of War instead of Ares!

These Funko stuff are getting cooler with every new one that comes out. First the Snoke one from Star Wars and now the Ares one.

I'm finally watching this damn movie tomorrow. I legitimately have no idea anymore how to visualize Ares. Like, how can he have a mustache? Why would you give him one? I'm so confused and intrigued.
