WONDER WOMAN Early Tracking Estimates Point To An Impressive $65 Million Plus Opening Weekend

The early tracking estimates for Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman are in, and although one source points to a solid $65 million opening weekend, another suggests it might actually be closer to $100M...

With less than a month to go until it hits theaters, early tracking projections for Wonder Woman are now online. Deadline reports that the iconic DC heroine's first solo adventure is estimated to take in around $65 million on its opening weekend, which would put it on par with the likes of Captain America: The First Avenger ($65M) and Thor ($65.7M), which also served as launching pads for those respective characters.

However, according to The Wrap, the film is actually expected to lasso a far more impressive $105-115 million. There's obviously a pretty significant margin there, so, as always, we'll have to wait and see how the movie performs for ourselves.

What do you guys think? Is $100M plus too ambitious, or will name recognition ensure Wonder Woman does block-busting business when it opens in June?

Awkward as shit...

However, that's exactly what actress Diane Lane did while on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen recently. When asked point-blank if she could reveal Justice League spoilers, and if the film will be better than Avengers, Lane replied: "No, and no. Short but honest - I hate to disappoint, but..."

Justice League Will Not Be Better Than Marvel Avengers
The next answer didn't get any less awkward, as she also admitted that it's sometimes weird playing the mother of hot and hunky Superman, Henry Cavill.

So, if DC fans were hoping for big win with Justice League, maybe it's time to start readjusting those hopes? Or was that just the sharp response of an actress frustrated with answering DC movie spoiler questions? You decide...

I figured it would make 120 million opening weekend, but I also thought eating left over Taco Bell food this morning was a good idea and I was wrong so what the hell do I know.

That kind of take for smaller scale movies is really solid. Ant-Man is like 9th in the MCU but is considered a strong financial success.

I don't know how much WW cost to make, but DC needs a small-scale critical and commercial win. This is good news.
