DARK PHOENIX Brazil Comic-Con Poster Teases A Battle For Jean Grey's Soul

A new poster for X-Men: Dark Phoenix has been released ahead of a panel for the movie at the Brazil Comic-Con, and comic book fans will definitely appreciate what Fox has done with this one. Take a look!

There's a lot of intrigue surrounding Dark Phoenix. Originally set to be released in November, it was pushed back to February and then delayed again until June. The first trailer certainly got people talking but received a somewhat tepid response and most fans remain convinced that X-Men: The Last Stand writer Simon Kinberg will drop the ball on this reboot.

We'll have to wait and see on that front, but with a panel for the movie taking place at the Brazil Comic-Con, there's a very good chance that we may get another trailer or some sort of sneak peek.

For now, though, Fox has released a poster which is designed like a comic book cover and features Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Professor X (James McAvoy), and Magneto (Michael Fassbender).

It's not a bad piece of imagery but it is strange to see the studio embracing the source material in this way when that's never really been a priority in the past! Regardless, this is a good start and probably one of the better posters we've seen this year.

What do you guys think? As always, share your thoughts in the comments section down below.

I like the poster, I really do but how many times are we gonna get Magneto being the bad guy and him fighting to use the Phoenix like it's getting extremely stale at this point. The X-men have plenty of other villains that could be involved yet they keep harping on Magneto(Fassbender is brilliant) but they can only do so much in terms of his character and I feel they reached that potential in Apocalypse.

@Jackal - Based on the trailers/interviews it doesn't sound like Magneto wants to use Jean (that Jessica Chastains charcater)

Sophie Turner says Jean seeks him out because he is the only person she is aware of who has fought themselves back from "darkness". Then I turn she destroys Geonshia.

Ultimately I feel Xavier and the X-men are finding it diffcult to fight Jean because she is their friend, but Magneto is willing to do what must be done and kill for the greater good of the planet/Galaxy.

@Jackal - They have been mailing it in for years. Simon Kinberg is a hack who lacks creativity.

@StormXmen123 - So the Xmen will have to stop Magneto from stopping Jean?

It will be cool to see Prof X and Magneto battle over Jean’s soul. That will definitely make it seem like a very different movie than The Last Stand. 😉

@TheUnworthyThor - based on interviews/ trailers.

Sophie turner states Jean seeks him out because he is the only one she know that a came back from "darkness". Then she turns on him and destroys Geonshia.

It's seems Xavier (+ X-men) are struggling to confront Jean due to their realtionship with them, will Magento is willing to eliminate her for the good of the planet.

They are on opposite sides but I don't think Magento is using the situation for Jeans power.

The only character that is openly manipulating Jean seems to be Jessica Chastains charcater p.

Yikes, Jean looks terrible in this poster. And the art's kind of piss-poor. Also, why is she covering her boobies? oh wait, now I see what she's doing...

The Fox X-Men movies remind me of being a child and asking your parents for a really specific Christmas gift. Let's safe a Star Wars Millenium Falcon Kenner vehicle/playset. Then Christmas Day comes you're unwrapping your gift, your parents looking on like they can't wait to see your face cause they know they got you what you asked for...

...and it turns out to be Millenium Falcon Playdoh set. That's what the Fox X-Men movies reminds me of.
