Fan Made: Intro To 1990's X-MEN Animated Series Recreated With Action Figures

Hit the jump to check out a rather impressive fan made stop-motion video that recreates the intro to Fox's popular X-Men animated series. All of this was put together with action figures, 60 hand-drawn background images, and over 4,000 individual pictures.

With the 20th anniversary approaching of Director Kyle Roberts' favorite cartoon growing up, he wanted to see if his team could recreate the 1992 X-Men cartoon animated intro using action figures and stop motion! With over 4,000 individual pictures taken, Roberts spent two months rotoscoping and animating all of the special effects.

Art director Nathan Poppe drew over 60 background images used in this project with his "doodle" style rad artwork. Colin Nance and Zach Zellar recreated the original theme from scratch

Wow awesome. Why o why can't we just get a super updated movie of the 90's xmen cartoon? Costumes music and a huge story!!! Do it. Release it theaters just like the Batman Mask of the Phantasm was. DO IT

Batman:TAS is my favorite cartoon of the 90's, but X-Men has probably the coolest intro to a cartoon I've ever seen. Every time I hear that theme song, I have the urge to go kick some ass. It's that cool.

Very well done. One small bone to pick. I know for a fact that when they are running at each other, Blackhawk is on the Brotherhood side.

Oh, dear, I loved this show when I was a kid and I had very fond memories of it.
However those memories were crushed by an integral rewatch I did two years ago, it really doesn't hold up like Batman TAS, especially the writing.

That was great! I loved this show as a kid. I hope Marvel plans to release the TV show in season sets. They would sell like hot cakes!

The Gambit action figure looks really cool.

Lol, the new updated sound effects threw me off. In my head, I was imagining the sounds effects from the actual intro.

i don't ever remember Nightcrawler in the opening...but this was really cool. That takes a lot of work, and time. Bravo for putting that together. That girl is freakin' cute too by the way.
