Kelsey Grammer Wants To Return As The "Underused" Beast In Future X-MEN Films

Kelsey's Grammer's Beast was a memorable addition to X-Men: The Last Stand, despite that film's missteps. The actor has now said he'd make a return as the blue-furred mutant in future films...

While X-Men: The Last Stand goes down as one of the more mediocre installments in 20th Century Fox's X-Men Franchise, Kelsey Grammer's Beast was one of the characters that received unanimous praise. Unfortunately, we only got one film with Grammer as the blue-furred mutant, with Nicholas Hoult taking over the role as a younger Hank McCoy in X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and X-Men: Apocalypse.

While we did see Grammer briefly reprise the role in a split second cameo in Days of Future Past, it hasn't stopped fans from wanting the actor to make a return as the fan-favorite mutant. During an interview with Comicbook.com at New York Comic Con (promoting his film Trollhunter), the actor said he'd love to do just that. "Of course I would," Grammer said when asked about whether or not he'd return to the franchise. "Beast was a riot, I think he was underused...I believe that they should have done another Beast movie, you know with my Beast."

Pretty hard to bring him back...maybe in movies like Wolverine 3?
But aside from DP & Wolverine movies, everything else will be set in the present.
Which has the FC's cast.
Mmmm don't know about New Mutants tho...

@Doomsday8888 - I assume that you mean that everything else will be set in the past, not the present, if it has the FC cast.

Just have him open the door next time Deadpool swings by the mansion, have Deadpool freak out because he actually sees another member of the X-men for once.

@Philip -
Well...The "Past" is the current "Present" so erm...yes, it's tricky! XD
The last X-Men film was set in the 80ties, the next will be set in the 90ties, but The Wolverine 3 is set in circa 2025, and DP pretty much our time so 2016...

@Doomsday8888 - the present is 2016, our year, you know?
the 80s are the past, lol

@gambgel - ohhh ok now i see where's the misunderstanding! XD
What i was a trying to say was that: the First Class cast is no longer part of a prequel film, but are the main characters, it is more likely to see Patrick Stewart in a film that is set in the FUTURE hence "the Wolverine 3" one...
Even if the McAvoy cast catch up with us, we will see the same Beast, not the one in X3 or at the end of DOFP.

@Doomsday8888 - i could get into Beast and Deadpool teaming up. Kelsey and Ryan could have some great banter.

He's a pretty perfect Beast. You get the intellectual side and the animal temper.

Mediocre installment? It tanked the franchise!

I'd like for him to motion capture play the character. I loved the makeup effects, but I think of his age and etc and how many more films he could do under motion capture

@TheRationalNerd - I wouldn't be averse to that. They could do well with referencing Planet of the Apes. Beast's simian movements have not been captured properly, imo....it all looks like poor wirework

If he does come back I would like him to be MoCap. Like Mark Ruffallo does The Hulk. He was perfect as Beast.

I personally am disappointed he isn't in the upcoming LOGAN movie in some brief cameo.

Since it's set in Nevada as a Modern day Western, I'd love to see Grammar as a rittled old bear type figure to call on for information regarding science or Essex or just research.

I can't stand the guy they have playing Beast now. He doesn't look like Beast...

@MFLuder - Me too. I want a reboot of the X-Men with Kelsey as Beast, Tom Hardy as Wolverine, Angela Bassett as Storm, Jennifer Lawrence as Rogue, Jessica Chastain as Jean, and Michael Fassbender as Cyclops.

Hopefully he will be used again. And hopefully not by Bryan Singer give it to someone else already. He's made some good ones but I want to see someone's take. And something more accurate.
