Bryan Singer to direct a Gambit spin-off?

Bryan Singer to direct a Gambit spin-off?

We've all heard the rumors floating around about the Deadpool movie spin-off from "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." But those of us Gambit fans have had our ears close to ground listening for real news of a Gambit spin-off. Could this really be it? And Bryan Singer directing?

Ever heard of Lauren Shuler Donner? Some of us have, but many have not. IESB calls her, "one of the most powerful women in Hollywood who flies just under the radar so most people don't even know it."

She has many big films under hand at the moment. Could one of those be about everyone's favorite "ragin' cajun?"

From IESB:

Will we see Gambit in the upcoming X-MEN FIRST CLASS film? Nope, we won't see Gambit in that, he wasn't part of Xavier's first class a the school, but it looks like we may be seeing him in his own spin off film.

Donner says, "There are internal discussions" about a Gambit spin-off and "they are going to figure all that out."

On top of that, they also discuss the possible return of Bryan Singer to the X-Men franchise.

From Donner:

"Nothing would please me more than to bring Bryan [Singer] on for another movie. And, if it's like the first Deadpool or the first Gambit, I think, I mean, I hope he would be interested..."

Brian Singer will make this rock! he was the reason the first two x-men movies were awesome, this guy understands the relation between real world and comics...if he does it, it'll be freakin sweet

I heard a while back, Josh Holloway (Sawyer from Lost) would be a perfect Gambit, he's got the bad ass look ,and the accent to pull it off, and he's freakin jacked as hell

i got a weird feeling fox might mix ideas and do a deadpool vs gambit movie. i mean, if you think about it, origins set up both characters in a way, but then, never crossed the two paths together, despite them both being said to have interacted with virtually everyone else in the film. i wouldn't mind seeing deadpool vs gambit headline their own spinoff combined film, but that would freakk up going with the faithful to the comics route they should try really sticking to, but.. this is hollywood, things are gonna change, some things will makes sense, somethings won't, it's just time and patience and the general interest that will ultimately be the decider..

Not true! They haven't done a Bishop movie yet... ;)

EDIT: They haven't done a Dazzler movie yet... That would be the bottom of the barrel...

THEHAWK: It's quite apparent I'm not a purist, but I will definitely have a certain standard for this film(should it be made) If that standard isn't met, I will burn the [frick]ing theater down as I walk out and make my way to the homes of every Fox executive, and with a sadistic glee, I will pull their [frick]ing skulls apart with my bare hands. Should anyone like me to go into greater detail, I certainly will.

Wow, how [frick]ing crazy does that statement make me seem.

Grif, dude, sometimes I wonder... do you even like comic books? Or do you just hate every attempt at making a movie out of them? I'm being serious, I really want to know.

I noticed a lot of you are quite happy that they are thinking about bringing in the perfect director to screw over your favorite character. You know what this is great news as long as it means he won't be anywhere near the next Superman movie.

Is it just me, because I dont think this guy looks like gambit at all. Im not saying I want the guy from lost, but I think he would have done it better. Gambits a gritty bad ass, card playing, thief, tough guy. The only type of guy that can wear pink and no one would say anything in fear he would kick there ass. This guy doesnt even have pink and I think he could be gay, he looks like some weird fat face chick, and wtf is up with that cheerio bowler hat shit.

Its too late, Gavin Hood already screwed over the character! Gambit is by far the most disappointing thing about the Wolverine movie. Taylor Kitch is ok at playing him i guess..although he cant maintain the accent. But they just neutered the character. Hes like a wannabe cool dude instead of an actual cool dude. So i say let Singer loose.

I'll never understand why GAMBIT like CYCLOPS and the WHITE QUEEN are actually in the movie??? But, SINGER could easily make a GAMBIT movie, infact ive just figured out why GAMBIT is in this and the QUEEN spin off city! Anyway SINGERS great, an ive always said he was! If it wasn't for the success of X-MEN in 2000 we would'nt of seen half the movies we're seeing now! ; )

Holy god this is awesome i hope and pray that there will be a gambit film but i will also hold my breath. and i do agree with myth about holding the film makers on a high standard if they make a gambit movie. I have been a fan of the cajun since i was five years old when i first watched the 90's x-men TV show. then once i started reading the comic i go even more into him and i will be along with myth on blowing up a theater and killing the writers and producers if they f'up.

Please no Brian Stinker. Please. Fox, just let the licenses lapse. Usual Suspects was nice, but that's it. X-Men 1 and 2 succeeded IN SPITE of him, not because of him and the tepid environment he created.

I liked X-3, I thought that it did a much better job of evoking / translating the comics universe than the first 2 X-Men films, which I watched in spite of Stinker's very lacklustre work.

well damn logan-x who took a shit in your coffee this morning to go ahead and say that none of us are fans of the x-men and comics and we should have no say why are you pissed becuase poor old logan didn't get the yellow and blue suit from the 90's cartoon show i mean damn man.

and cheesey i must agree that singer has had some bad work but nothing is as bad as ranter ok and come on we cant really hope to get lucky enough to have nolan or fevearu as directors can we.

Logan-X: Yes, we're fans. And yes, we were displeased with how some of the characters in the recent comic book movie adaptations have been portrayed, or even how they've been "reimagined" or stylized... But if I hear one more goddamned idiot tell me that I'm not a fan because I still plan to see the movie, or because I'm adult enough to understand and accept that I can do nothing about what has already been done, I will lose my ever loving mind!!! And then I will find you... And the Shadow Hare will not save you!

I would love to see another X-men film... as long as it has NOTHING to do with the last four that were made. But I doubt that will happen. I don't think a lot of people realize that Bryan Singer did not read comics growing up. He knew absolutely nothing about the X-men until they asked him to direct it. Then all of a sudden he claimed to be an X-men fan overnight. I wonder how much the guy actually read. And considering he's the primary reason we ended up with this skewed X-men movie universe, I'm guessing he didn't read much.

ah crap why are we bringing back this a-hole to do The Gambit movie. Very bad comic book director, excuse me i mean graphic novels for those sensative type. I hope he doesn't do the gambit movie he has done way to much damage to this franchise.
