I can understand the last stand comparisons, not liking the content or editing of the trailer (the international version is better) but the visual effects outside that single Storm shot look great.

@StormXmen123 - I've never seen so much hate for a film that hasn't even come out yet

@StormXmen123 -
It really does feel like a remake;
• Xavier dies visiting Jean = Mystique dies visiting Jean
• Magneto saves imprisoned mutants from a moving vehicle = Jean saves imprisoned mutants from a moving vehicle
• Magneto convinces Jean to join him = Alien woman convinces Jean to join her
• Wolverine faces off against Jean in a destruction Torndao = Cyclops faces off against Jean in a destruction Tornado

A few of the other aspects are just generic tropes, such as the Mansion being attacked once again and a funeral in the rain so discounting those. Probably some other X-Men Last Stand moments in the trailer also.

@WAKANDABATMANFOREVER - People loved the BvS trailers lol (me being one of them), and the movie ended up being one of the worst movies in the DCEU (and ruining it)..:doesn’t compare.

@Solarkalel85 - It's easy when you know a creator's recent history. So people are supposed to be hyped about a redone story they didn't ask for to make people like YOU happy?

HAH! Try again with that nonsense. Make Mine Marvel!

@WAKANDABATMANFOREVER - The real hate for Batman v Superman didn’t start until after people started seeing it. There were plenty of people who weren’t sold on it going in (I was down on the trailers myself), but I don’t think people anticipated the train wreck that was coming.

Here, people definitely are assuming it has little chance of being good at all.

"Oh God, They're Going To Kill Cyclops Again, Aren't They?"

At this point I thought; you know, maybe they're banking on us thinking it's a Last Stand remake and we're all being played. Or maybe I'm giving them too much credit.

Either way, thank god they're coming to the MCU. I can't wait to see them utilised properly.

@Nebula - Me too. I grew up with Xmen. Who woulda thought 20 years later, I'd be such a fanboy over Captain America instead.

I cant wait to see what the MCU does with the Xmen. The care they will put into EVERY character, not just Wolverine, Magneto, and Xavier

If anything the scene looked more like a remake of Wolverine facing Jean in X-Men Last Stand.
Scarilian

@Nebula -
The original plot leaked last year after horrific screenings which notably had audiences laughing at what was intended to be serious scenes such as the death of a character.

It appears to be exactly the same and remains seemingly unchanged so...

MASSIVE SPOILERS;
https://www.flickeringmyth.com/2018/06/spoilers-x-men-dark-phoenix-plot-details-surface-following-test-screening/

The reshoots were to fix the ending, which was intended to set-up a sequel (as it was made as a part 1 scenario) so this is likely the final plot of the movie otherwise.

Vigor
Vigor - 3/1/2019, 6:03 AM
@DnA - They stated her powers allow her to manipulate things at the molecular level. So yeah, expect a lot of disintegrating happening again in this film. I'm not exactly sure if her comics version had power on that level but I do know some tele-path/kinetics reach that level (Cable being an example after getting rid of the Techno-virus).
MarvelousMarty
MarvelousMarty - 3/1/2019, 5:20 AM
I still can't quite believe they have re-made this film. It's like Marvel using time travel in Endgame and remaking Iron Man. Of the thousands of great stories and characters they have, they do this! Maybe it's because I'm an older comic book fan, but The Last Stand seems like yesterday. Plus it looks worse then the last effort so what on earth are they thinking? It makes absolutely no sense to me. At all. Rant over.
