RUMOR: X-MEN DARK PHOENIX Repeats Mistakes From THE LAST STAND According To A Reddit User

These rumors come from a trusted Reddit user who claims to have seen the movie back in February. If all this is true, then that merger can't come soon enough!

A user on Reddit who goes by the name of Benthic_Tubes claims to have seen the rough cut of X-Men: Dark Phoenix (Or just Dark PhoeniX) back in February. The movie was supposed to release this past March, but was delayed due to possible negative feedback from test screenings. Based on what the Reddit user saw, we're likely in for an even worse version of 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand.

If you want to read it all for yourself, click on the following link above at your own risk. But if you want a quick rundown, read on.
[POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOLLOW]

  • Moments from The Last Stand is repeated, such as Jean removing Scott's glasses so that she can control his eyes thru kissing, & a younger Jean getting picked up by Charles.
  • Jean almost kills Charles...again
  • Magneto becomes an opposing force to the team...again
  • Mystique gets killed by Jean on accident
  • The shapeshifting aliens do not resemble Skrulls at all
That's all I feel I should share. Hopefully the reshoots & the pushed back release date means that Simon Kinberg & co. are correcting some of these problems so that this final X-Men film by Fox can go out on a high-note. What do you make of all of this?

Don't forget that in the third act, the X-Men are in civilian attire lol

There is no such thing as a "trusted Reddit user"
But still...

"Mystique gets killed by Jean on accident
I dig it.😎

@Doomsday8888 - He was verified by the mods

@BlackPhillip - He starts the article with this statement:

"I have been a lurker on this site for a while and I finally made an account"

How can he be a long-time trusted user if he just created a profile? So what if a mod notes he is legit. The person making the claims made it clear they never had a profile on the site.

@BlackPhillip
Either way, i don't see why we should get triggered by this tbh...
They are not even using the Skrulls, so...

@KillerCroc357 - I never said he was a long-time user. I said his story is legit if the mods verified him.

@BlackPhillip - A mod stating someone is legit that just setup an account for the first time on Reddit doesn't even make sense.

What will be interesting is with the post-screening reshoots can we even say what anyone saw in a test screening is the final movie?

Wait a minute. How can they be a 'trusted long-time member' when they posted this up-front at the top of the page.

"I have been a lurker on this site for a while and I finally made an account"

Come on now. Wanting to spur excitement to attract attention to your article is one thing. But doesn't add up with that lead-in statement.

@KillerCroc357 - So what? It was never said he was a trusted long time member, just that a mod verified him as being legit somehow. The only thing that makes me question it is why has it taken him until May to post it when the test screening happening in February? To be honest I think he's probably right, the previous X-Men films have been pretty shit, wouldn't surprise me if this one is too.

KillerCroc357 - 5/28/2018, 12:19 PM
@TerryTerrapin - Why does it matter? Like you noted - it took them this long to share such details. And just because some Reddit mod gave them the nod doesn't sit right when the 'member' just created an account for the first time.

Now prior X-Men movies being 'shit' - in your words - I disagree. X-Men, X2, First Class and X-Men: DoFP are all solid movies. Add to this Logan, Deadpool and Deadpool 2. Other than that, you may be right. Maybe.

I want to see what this "trusted" user has reported correctly in the past before I give this rumor any weight. Also, not seeing any mistakes, must need glasses.
KillerCroc357
KillerCroc357 - 5/28/2018, 11:47 AM
@RextheKing - Nothing. Because he calls out his status in the first sentence.

"I have been a lurker on this site for a while and I finally made an account"

The “repeated mistakes” seem more like nods to X3- holding back Scott’s optic beams isn’t a bad moment, and is an iconic moment in their relationship. Likewise, holding Xavier and almost killing him seems more like a reference and a way to let extremely casual viewers know that this film will end differently

@cyclopstb - Exactly! How does he come across as a long-term Reddit member if he notes he just created an account for the first time?

Folks should read the top of the page where he starts out about his background. This doesn't add up.

But Reddit just approved that, what he’s saying is legit. Which he had to show proof, that he went to a test screening

Cmon ppl read

@JoJo1982 - Oh, I'm good with reading these details.

'...trusted Reddit user...'

This can mislead people into accidentally assuming this is a long-term Reddit member that can be trusted.

Or did you not read that?

See - you were so busy telling everyone else to read things, you forgot to read things. Like the article we are all commenting on.

Kidding. Not looking to fight with folks. I just find the information and article details misleading. Not to say Fox has not screwed up an X-Men movie before.

If Mystique gets killed that is Great news, because Jennifer Lawrence never had the soul of the character like Rebecca Romijn had.
