KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE Star Channing Tatum Reveals Whether Or Not He's Still Attached To GAMBIT

X-Men spinoff Gambit was supposed to be released last October and after the loss of a number of directors, the movie is seemingly stuck in development hell. Is Channing Tatum still going to star, though?

Gambit has come close to happening a couple of times now but after the loss of directors Rupert Wyatt and Doug Liman, it appears Fox has gone back to the drawing board. Or just scrapped the project altogether! Star Channing Tatum is, of course, a busy man, so has he moved on from playing the Cajun?

Seemingly not as he's revealed in a recent interview that the movie is still in the works and he's definitely attached to star. "Yeah, of course," Tatum confirms. "We’re working on it right now."

The Kingsman: The Golden Circle star wouldn't say anything more than that but with Fox setting all those release dates for untitled Marvel movies, chances are Gambit is being eyed for one of those. Who will direct remains to be seen but after the success of R-Rated movies like Deadpool and Logan, Fox must see that this has some potential if it's handled the right way and makes good use of its lead
.

Do you guys think Gambit will become a reality? Let us know your thoughts in the usual place.

Tatum wouldn't be a bad Shazam, especially as he would be believable as a Child turned Adult, would suit his acting style.

Looking forward to Shazam, as the Directors films have got good reviews, although I don't watch horror movies.

@SimplyAz - That is the only good idea I've ever become aware of as far as Tatum in a CBM role. The guy is funny and can be likeable but his range is only marginally better than Tommy Wiseau.

@Parker00 -

Yep, definitely needs to Diversify his selection of movies, although Foxcatcher was an interesting role.

When I see some on-set location pics and clips, then I know it's happening.
If not, just give it a rest already...
If its meant to happen, then it will...
I'm exhausted just reading all the speculation posts about it: is it on? Is it not? Is it on? Is it not?
For phucks sake, give it a rest...

Yeah after DP, i'm pretty sure this movie will happen sooner or later.
I rather see this than a new F4 by Fox tbh.

@Doomsday8888 - I'm pretty sure I can speak for the CBM community when I say i'd rather stare at Ron Jeremy's hairy asshole in the middle of the hottest day of July after he ran a marathon and shat himself a couple of times, for a week long, than seeing yet another F4 by Fox.

Told GF about his attachment to the movie when it was first announced. Her reaction was something like "Nooooooooo!"

Tatum is wrong for the role and the idea of a solo gambit movies doesn't work for me until I see him in an xmen movie where he is one of the top 3 characters. I feel like they need to introduce him in the xmen first and then do a solo movie. gambit is in my top 3 xmen characters and I would rather see him in the team movie than his own solo film. Not looking forward to watching the train wreck creative process that will be Channing's Gambit.

I don't think anyone has wanted a Gambit movie since 1997.
Still, I'd rather Fox stick to X-Men properties, and leave F4, Doom & Silver Surfer alone until they return home.

I'm excited for New Mutants & Deadpool 2 (hoping they retitle it Deadpool/Cable), and hopefully Dark Phoenix can give the new cast a better shake than Apocalypse.
It's probably a mistake to release all three of those in an already crowded year, however.

As far as other spin-offs they've talked about, considering the Deadpool films are basically introducing all the characters, I'd say X-Force should basically be Deadpool 3.
idk if anybody wants to see Alpha Flight.
Exiles could be very cool if done right (it won't be).
And since they cast, X-23 so young, I doubt they wanna fast track a film centered around her. Maybe in the meantime, she can pop up in X-Force for a small role?

This is so stupid, just put him in one of upcoming X-Men movies and recast Tatum.

I would want Tatum to replace Tom Hardy and be new Eddie Brock.

@789 - "This is so stupid, just put him in one of upcoming X-Men movies and recast Tatum."

i guess we don't like Tatum as Gambit.

"I would want Tatum to replace Tom Hardy and be new Eddie Brock."

i guess we don't like Tatum but not as much as we don't like Hardy so we prefer Tatum as Eddie.
