No Gambit In The Wolverine; Taylor Kitsch Also Unsure Of Spin-Off Solo Movie!

The X-Men Origins: Wolverine star has revealed that he's heard nothing about Gambit returning for the Japan set sequel and reveals that the status of a spin-off is equally as uncertain...

Taylor Kitsch has his hands full with starring roles in John Carter and Battleship, but what of Gambit, a role which brought him to the attention of many comic book fans? While X-Men Origins: Wolverine wasn't met with too positive a reception, Kitsch's take on Remy LeBeau was mostly well received, which led to talks of a possible spin-off featuring the character. So, will we see him back in either that or The Wolverine? Probably not...

"That's up to Hugh, if he wanted it. We'll see. I don't think I'm in it, I haven't heard anything. I got my plate full, man. I'm pretty happy where I'm at."

"I know if we do it, it'll probably be down the road and we'll do it hopefully a lot darker. I'd love to play him again, but it's a matter of doing it right, too. There's no point in just doing it for the sake of doing it."

Would I like to see a Gambit movie? Depends on who's directing and who's writing the script.

I wouldn't mind a Gambit movie, but not with him. What a waste of a character. They included him in Wolverine for the sake of including him. Tsk Tsk.

We are all pushing for a Deadpool movie and The Wolverine and they are developing slower than we expected. This either has a snowball's chance in happening or it will turn into a "what were you thinking, Fox" moment and this will be greenlit first.

As screwed up as the timelineis in the movies now making too many more of any sort would be hard to take as a fan. Wait 10 years and start over. Or just don't...that would be good too.

isn't that kind of common sense? why would Gambit be in Japan?! ...well then again, they've done a lot of things with these movies that don't make sense: screwing up continuity even withing their own X-Men film universe.

...
wouldn't a Gambit solo/spin-off movie be kind of pointless?

p.s. taylor kitsch was a TERRIBLE Gambit...they should've got that guy from Lost to play Gambit.

I agree, they should re-cast Gambit. He's the second worst thing in Origins.

I really liked Kitsch as Gambit. I thought he was a good choice. His fame is increasing now with John Carter. A Gambit spin-off with him could easily capitalize on that.

he clearly knows that they didnt do Gambit justice on Origins.

Jim Caviezel for Gambit!

James Franco for Gambit? That may be the worst casting I've ever read on here, lol. I like Franco a lot, but seeing a stoner Gambit just might destroy my childhood.

keep him out of the wolverine he is not needed.

just follow the wolverine limited series of the 80s,f*ck adding characters that have nothing to do with the story.

he shouldnt be unsure about the future of him playing Gambit. He was horrible, and im sure 90% of his piss poor performance was a lack of the Cajun accent

thank god! im still waiting on a great xmen movie. aside from the first one, they all can suck it. there are so many characters to use in different ways, yet fox insists on making up their own stories and origins. just do a gambit/cable movie please

If they can get away with putting a non-Russian Colossus in two movies, and an almost African (but sexy as hell) Storm in three, then I'm sure the cajun accent won't concern the studio. Plus wasen't Pyro Austrian in the comics? Nevermind lol
I've watched the featurettes of Origins and this guy fits the role enough 4 me. But I think Kelly Hu's Yuriko would make a better return character 4 me. The mute one we got in X2 isn't enough 4 such a great character.

I totally think Ian Somerhalder should play Gambit. And an Origins:Gambit would be AMAZING! My most favorite X-Men Character EVER! But this guy did a horrible job depicting him. He didn't even have a cajun accent.... I mean come on!
