Hello ComicBookMovie community! I hope you've all been well and enjoying a great summer filled with many great films. So with Bryan Singer's next installment into the X-Men franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse, still many months away - I thought why not share with you all what I believe to be the best action scenes from each film in the franchise. So enough with the introduction, let's run down this list.

The Train Station Stand off - X-Men (2000)
If I recall correctly this scene gave us our first actual look at the power of Magneto when he not only tears apart the train, but swiftly removes any opposition easliy including Wolverine. The best part of this scene though is when Magneto and Professor Xavier have their stand off. It shows us the difference between these two characters. How Magneto would go to lengths that Xavier would not when Magneto fires the bullet of one pistol and threatens to pull the trigger of every gun pointed at the police officers. It's a great stand off that is tense and has you at the edge of your seat, even with a predictable outcome.

Mutant In The White House - X2: X-Men United (2003)
You all knew it was coming. The white house action sequence from X2 is considered by many, including me, as one of the best action scenes in a comic book film. It was at one point, and probably still is, considered by some as the best one ever. It's a very beautifully done action sequence showcasing Nightcrawler's power spectacularly. How Nightcrawler just appears and disappears from one person to the next in a very fast paced manner is so damn cool and once it's all done and you've taken in what just happened all you can really say s just "wow". This sequence deserves all the credit it ever gets because it earns it.

Hold The Line - X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
You could hate it, you could love it, or maybe be somewhere in between with it, but there's not denying that X-Men: The Last Stand had some pretty cool action scenes. The movie itself aside, the climatic battle between the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants is pretty damn epic with Magneto not only lifting the Golden Gate bridge with ease, but also seeing Beast, Colossus, and also a full-on Ice Man in battle, even if they didn't have a large focus. Sure the sequence does have those terrible Juggernaut and Kitty Pryde lines, but overall it's epic. Especially once Jean goes all out and begins disintergrating everything and everyone, along with the part where Wolverine's trying to reach Jean and his body is regenerating as fast as it's disintegrating and you can see his adamantium skeleton at points. It was pretty epic.

Time To Go To Work - X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
Well we're here, the X-Men movie pretty much hated, or at least disliked, by everyone. Say what you want about X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but the scene when we get to see Wade Wilson do what Wade Wilson does best is pretty exciting and one of the few redeeming things about this film. We get to see a small glimpse of the humor the character is known for both in the elevator and once he's done killing all the armed men. It's also what made pretty much everyone love the idea of Ryan Reynold's being Wade Wilson/Deadpool. There's not much to say about the scene other than it's well done and that bullet split was pretty badass.

Frankenstein's Monster - X-Men: First Class (2011)
Everything about this scene to me is just perfection. I'm not even sure if you'd consider this an action scene, nor do I care. It's my favorite scene in the entire franchise and one of my favorite scenes in any comic book film. It's just so well done. From how it's shot, to the tension that keeps rising and rising  to even developing the character of Erik as someone who will get his vengeance for what Sebastion Shaw did to him and no one will stop him. It soldifies Erik as a vengeful monster and even the whole "we're just following orders" that one of the Nazi's says during it comes into play in the climactic battle when Erik tell Charles that he's been at the mercy of men just following orders after Charles pleads with him not to send the missles towards the innocent men "just following following orders". It's just so damn good.

The Wolverine - The Wolverine (2013)
While I found The Wolverine to be a bit boring at times, the battle between Wolverine and Shigen Yashida near the end is a very well done action sequence. It's very well shot as the camera follows the action really great without any unnecessary shaky cam, along with some sold dialogue between the characters, and the intestity a Wolverine fight should have. Also when Shigen asks Logan what he is and Logan responds with "the Wolverine" you just want to jump off your seat and yell "f*** yeah".

Time In A Bottle - X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
Well this is obvious, and I think many of you would agree that the best action sequence in X-Men: Days of Future Past is seeing Quicksilver do his thing and just shut up all the naysayers. From the moment he breaks Magneto out of his prison and the snappy dialogue between those characters to the amazing frozen in time scequence showcasing the immense capabilities of Quicksilver's power. It's such a great action sequence that it managed to top the X2 white house scene for many, including me, and has me excited to see more from this character in the future of the franchise.

So there you have it, ComicBookMovie community! Seven scenes for seven films and each is what I consider the best one from each of those films. So do you agree with the list? Or is there a action scene which you considered better than the one I mention for one of the films? Leave your thoughts in comment section below and don't forget to thumbs up if you enjoyed reading this!

Great list! For me, it would go:

X-Men: The final battle when Wolverine gets levitated up to Statue of Liberty torch. I still get chills when the music kicks on.
X2: Nightcrawler White House Battle
X-Men: The Last Stand: I really happen to enjoy the sequence where they're at Jean Grey's house, with the X-Men vs the Brotherhood. I mean, Professor X dying is really stupid, but the action rules.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine: I'm not sure if this totally counts as an action sequence, but the opening credits are amazing.
X-Men: First Class: Magneto lifting the submarine
The Wolverine: The fight on top of the train
X-Men: Days of Future Past: Nothing beats the Quicksilver scene

Niklander- some great action scenes in that film but i think the best part in the future was blinks powers they where just so cool to watch on screen. however i think they needed some more mutants for some crazier powers i never understood why warpath was there he was basically a dude with knifes who on occasion acted like a cat there where loads of better mutants they could have chosen.

@Niklander Days of Future past is riddled with great action scenes, but to be honest, nothing really topped the Quicksilver scene for me, climax with Magneto speech does get close though. The same way I feel regarding X2, nothing topped Nightcrawler's scene in the opening for me.

The Quicksilver scene is just perfection

Nightcrawler attacking the White House is a classic and one of the best comic-book action scenes to this day

I am so glad you put Frankenstein Monster on this! It was so intense and showed how his character is. I always love the reaction of the man when he points a gun at Magneto and it pulls over to the other guy

Yea I loved QS scene in DOFP but I gotta say the final battle in the future was pretty badass mostly due to how great blinks powers worked

@PesciGotPepsi I almost didn't put it because on here because I wasn't sure if it would be considered and "action scene", but I said screw it and added it because it's just so damn good.

This is a great article, and even though I have my own preferences, there are a number of picks here I definitely agree with. I'm just gonna jump around here.

Great selection for The Wolverine. No doubt that the Wade Wilson fight in Origins is the strongest scene in a very, very bad movie.

With X2, my personal favourite action sequence is Wolverine going berserker in the X-Mansion. It's one of the few times these films have totally unleashed Logan; all of the action scenes in The Wolverine being another.

And while I won't deny that the Quicksilver scene in DOFP is fantastic, I don't think it's my favourite action bit in the film. That title belongs to pretty much any one of the Sentinel scenes; it kinda depends on what day I'm having. Today, I'd probably say that the cross-cutting between the future-X-Men fighting the Sentinels and the 70s X-Men at the White House is the standout. I change my mind all the time though, haha.

All that said, this was a great read. Thumbs up from me, man!

@kinghulk

The Rogue cut has a few interesting tweaks but ultimately you can see why the scenes were pulled.

There's a nice scene with Beast and Mystique that didn't make it, basically mystique goes back to the mansion to destroy Cerebro and stop the X-men from finding her. While there she asks Hank if he finds her mutant form beautiful, he replies yes, when she asks him if he finds his mutant form beautiful he get's upset. It was cut because it basically mirrors mystique disabling Cerebro in X1.

There was also a scene where Bobby and Eric break into the X-Mansion to save Rogue while past Magneto is retrieving his Helmet. It was nice but removes the impact of the final past/present battle.

First Class - The Coin. Magneto and the missiles. Hellfire Club attacking CIA (Azazel ...)

DOFP - Wolverine waking up in the 70s, future X-men, Magneto & the Stadium with Sentinels. The Kitchen - not just Quicksilver but Wolverine as well when Charles is wasting time talking.

I still dont understand the love for Quicksilver's sequence in DOFP... maybe its all the years of Smallville (and more recently Flash) I kinda expected more from a movie.

I thought the best X-men scene is in X2 - When Wolverine goes on a rampage against strikers men inside the xavier school.. The way he unleashes his claws is a really cool scene. To bad that that furiosity was missing in The Wolverine - Ninja Scene!!

Look at it..

Pure pleasure

I guess most of my favourite X-movie action scenes are either from X2 or First Class. DoFP gets a cookie for the Sentinels battle in the future and especially the way they utilized Blink's powers.

The Quicksilver scene was of course really, really fun to watch, and as an individual scene it would definitely make a top spot on any such list. But if I put it in the context of the movie(s) it just creates so many problems that I'd be hesitant to add it.
