It's probably going to be a while before Marvel Studios moves forward with its planned X-Men reboot, but if and when things do begin to gain steam, it sounds like they have a perfect candidate to play Beast just waiting for the call.
Sam Richardson will be best known to Veep fans as the perennially jovial Richard Splett, but the actor has been making waves on the big screen with roles in the likes of Promising Young Woman, and is set to star in upcoming movies The Tomorrow War and Werewolves Within. While speaking to Variety about the latter, Richardson expressed his love for the blue-furred mutant hero.
“I think Beast is like a big blue-haired Richard Splett,” he told the trade, referring to his Veep character. There are certainly a few similarities, though Hank McCoy might be just slightly more cerebral than Mr. Splett!
Fans have been curious about Marvel Studios' plans for the X-Men ever since Disney acquired the rights to the characters via the takeover of 20th Century Fox's assets back in 2019, but a few rumors aside - the latest being that the team is being rebooted for a feature called The Mutants - we haven't head any solid updates.
We don't even know whether Beast will be a part of the team when they do eventually make their MCU debut, but let us know if you think Richardson would be a good pick to play the character in the comments section.
