3D is all the craze these days, isn't it? Whether it's shot in the format or post-converted. Well, Fox Russia have now confirmed that director James Mangold's The Wolverine will be released in the latter format when it hits cinemas next July. This will be the first X-Men film to be released in 3D, and the increased ticket prices that come with watching a film in the format should greatly improve the film's gross at the Box Office. So, will you be seeing The Wolverine in 3D? Sound off in the comments below.

The Wolverine is directed by James Mangold and stars Hugh Jackman as Logan/Wolverine, Hiroyuki Sanada as Shingen Yashida, Hal Yamanouchi as Yashida, Tao Okamoto as Mariko Yashida, Rila [frick]ushima as Yukio, Will Yun Lee as Kenuichio Harada, Brian Tee as Noburo Mori and Svetlana Khodchenkova as Viper. The film hits cinemas July 26th, 2013 and will be released in 3D.

I wish Marvel would realize that Wolverine is a just not a good kid movie property...it doesnt work. Want this to be good but when a movie about a guy with essentially Knives coming out of his hands being known for being the best at what he does(Killing) is rated pg...its not very encouraging

Besides The Hobbit, Pt. 1 (filmed stereoscopically) and Star Trek Into Darkness (filmed on 70mm & converted to 3D) • I don't plan on seeing anything else in the more-nuisance-than-beneficial format. However, I guess I will if there are no other options.

They have ruined this character. Hugh Jackman talks about how much passion he has for the character, but I'm not sure he, or fox, have any idea who Wolverine is.
They refer to his past, to him being an "animal"... but all Origins showed was that he was just as nice a guy before he got the adamantium, as he was after.
Best at what he does? The movies make it clear that he's best at getting his ass handed to him by every Tom, Dick, and Harry that scraps with him. The only reason he ends up alive is because of his healing factor. They've basically made a series of Wolverine movies (I'm including the X-Men films, cause they are mostly about him), where Wolverine is a nice guy, who CAN'T fight worth a damn. I'm not saying it needs to be rated R, but even Kevin Costner in Waterworld was more of a badass...

I've only seen Thor, Avengers, Finding Nemo and Beauty & the Beast in 3D and IMO it served well with the latter two, but not so much the others. I'm going with standard 2D for old Knucklehead

I don't really dislike 3D, in fact I actually like it most of the time (okay, call me weird if you want), but the decision to release Wolverine in 3D is just stupid. Wolverine isn't heavy on CGI as it's the Japan story, just another reason why the 3D is super unnecessary for this film. What, will we see Logan's claws jump out of the screen? Pffft. I guess it's all about the money. -_-

That's too bad, this movie doesn't seem like the 3D type but I guess its not worth the risk NOT to do it. Thor, Captain America and First Class all sold approximately the same number of tickets but Thor and Capt. A came out on top box office wise because of the 3D convert.

Days of Future Past seems like a movie that should have 3D. Sentinals, Havok, Cyke, Storm and possibly Phoenix coming out of the screen could be worth while.

How much do you want to bet that fox is going to force mangold to do close up shots of wolverines fist just so that we can see the blades come out in 3d? Seriously fox has already made it clear that they don't give a shit about there super hero films in the same way that Sony, marvel, and Warner bros do, the only reason they release these movies is to make a quick buck than they give the film a very poor budget so it's made as cheaply as possible, and they only make them at the very last minute when they have to or else they lose the rights to e characters
