I was there. 9 o'clock on Wednesday. I wanted to be the first to see for myself. I've waited for more than a year for this moment. I was especially interested because the director is a fellow South African. So? How did he do? Was it worth the wait?
It was. Every bit of it. If you forgive the massive curveball concerning Wolverine and Sabretooth, and the blatant explanation of Deadpool, which I've never come across in the comics, then it is a very well made, well told, action-packed, blinder of a movie.
In my opinion, it's the best of the four.
Also, I find it amazing that people in America would not want to go see it because of the swineflu. Apparently Barack Obama had to go on national television to soothe the collective American consciousness, which just proves my point that Americans don't really need a President, but a wetnurse, to hold their little hands whenever the smallest of things scares them. Shame. It must be terrible to life in such fear of everything and everybody.
So for those who were thinking of not going, please prove yourself to be better than the drama queens the rest of the world makes you out to be.
It is so worth it.
