Question Did you get a chance to do anything else during your break since last season?

Taylor: Yeah, I went to Australia and did Wolverine. It’s kind of like X-Men 4. It’s the story of Wolverine and his origin.

Question: Who did you play in that?

Taylor: I played a character called Gambit. He’s just another comic book character that has kinetic energy. It’s a fun role. You’ll have fun watching it.

Question: How familiar were you with Gambit before you got the part?

Taylor: I knew of him, but I didn’t know the following he had, and I’m sure I’m still going to be exposed to that. I love the character, I love the powers, and I love what they did with him. I didn’t know that much, but in my experience, it was a blessing to go in and create my take on him. I’m excited for it, to say the least.

Question: Is it fun to play a superhero?

Taylor: Absolutely! It’s a great ride. I had so much fun in Australia.

Question: Was it very different to do that, compared to the show?

Taylor: I think anything I do is going to be different from Friday Night Lights because it is such a rarity. You take what you will from each gig. I’ve learned so much from Friday Night Lights, and from a guy like Hugh Jackman.

Question: Is there any common ground between Tim Riggins and Gambit?

Taylor: I think so. Both have a lack of parenthood in their lives.

Question: How would you compare Friday Night Lights fans to X-Men fans?

Taylor: I haven’t bombarded yet, for the X-Men stuff. I’ve been told enough about them that I’m excited for it. I feel the project went incredibly well, and I’m excited to see the result. I’d say Hugh Jackman is a huge influence on my life, as a person and as an actor, and it was an amazing experience.

Question: How is he a huge influence on your life?

Taylor: To be honest, it’s an aura that, in this business, I’ve never come across. He’s incredibly disciplined and free. There’s just something about him. You walk away and he hits you. He’s just this person that’s so grounded and so open that you question whether it’s real or not. I’ve met nobody like him. The way he welcomed me on set, it was just a huge influence.

Question: Would you like to do Broadway, like he has?

Taylor: I can’t sing like Hugh, but I’d love to do theater, one day.

Question: Is playing such different characters something that’s important to you, as an actor?

Taylor: Absolutely, it is! From the get go, you don’t want to get typecast. You don’t want to dig yourself into a hole where everyone is just throwing these same roles at you. Through the writing of Friday Night Lights, Gospel Hill and Wolverine, I’ve had such great opportunities. The biggest thing that I aim for is working with the best, like getting the opportunity to work with Angela Bassett, Liev Schreiber, Hugh Jackman and Kyle Chandler. All I want to do is just keep learning and growing, through the roles and the experiences with those other actors.

I am so revved up about Wolverine! Gambit is my favorite X-man, but he was the last I expected to see on the silver screen one day. I'm sooo excited to see this guy's take on the amazing Remy le Beau! But he definitely isn't 'just another comic book character that has kinetic energy'...

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed on this one, but hopefully we won't be disappointed with this movie.

im kinda dissapointed they picked this guy to play gambit. He seems like he cant even pretend to like or to be intrested in the character.

He seems excited to be playing a superhero. But not necessarily about WHICH superhero he happens to be playing. But they evidently gave him some backstory at least, so hopefully the performance won't be terrible.

Pretty boy doesn't read comics, and probably hasn't picked up a book since before he discovered his mirror.

I'm a big Friday Night Lights fan. I like the kid. He is a good actor for that show. I think that he will do well as Gambit, which is as well one of my favorite if not the favorite X-Men. I think he can play off the attitude of Gambit in this movie. I just think he was trying not to say too much about it in his FNL interview. After all this interview was not about the Wolverine movie.

'I played a character called Gambit. He’s just another comic book character...' This guy really doesnt know Remy that well by the sounds of it. He's not 'just another comic book character', hes one of the coolest x-men!

Because this is such a highly anticipated film all the actors are under strict contracts that forbid them from discussing pretty much anything relating to the film so all that can be told in an interview is the fact that
yes Taylor Kitsch is playing the comic book character Gambit
it is unlikely Kitsch will ruin gambit. that is the job of the writers and directer and a little bit from the editor you could even blame the studio if you would like
but let me say this
its hollywood
the chances are great that this will be [frick]ed up
and yes perhaps there is more to life than being really really really ridiculously good looking (zoolander) but he cannot control his appearence no more than you can control the fact you are ugly, overweight and cannot get a date to save your life, [frick]in spinster. perhaps i have made the worng assumption "powergirl". well dont [frick]in assume he doesnt read comics do you [frick]in know him? no, nor do i know you. so it is equally unfair for me to say you are ugly fat and a [frick]in spinster as it is for you to say he doesnt read comics and hasnt picked up a book since he caught his reflection in a spoon. he is an actor, maybe not the best one at that but a [frick]ing actor, what do actors do? the act and regurgitate lines. how do they learn these lines? by reading a [frick]ing script. perhaps a script is no Fitzgerald piece, perhaps the text of a script is more similar to that of a comic

try to pose some optomism, and you know what sex sells. box office scores will shoot sky high because of ryan renolds and taylor kitsch

hollywood doesnt care about the beauty of a comic
all they want
is money.
why do you think they are making all these comics into films hmm? because the [frick]in babyboomers and boomer echo who grew up with this shit want to rekindle their youth and will pay. they will pay to tickle their fancy and get their children to shut the [frick] up
its all a scam

so my advice:
ignore the film
stick to the so called out-of-date method of entertainment that is a comic book
