First of all, it looks as if the first choice for the role of Creed, who will later become Sabretooth, has fallen through. Apparently talks with Karl Urban have fallen through, leaving the role open. Next in line for the production team, is Gerard Butler.
He’s a bit of a stereotype at the moment for the industry, portraying King Leonidas in 300. But with the remake of Escape from New York falling through, it looks as if Butler might just be able to pull off this role.
Another bit of casting is the rumor that director Gavin Wood wants Natalie Portman for the role of ‘Kayla’. We’re not sure just role she’ll play in the movie, as the pre-strike revision has yet to be leaked. But in Marvel history, she and Wolverine have had a torrid past.
Lastly, there are rumors that a new member of Weapon-X – the clandestine Canadian government project that turned Wolverine, among others, in to the weapon he is today – will be joining the Wolverine movie.
Deadpool, nicknamed the ‘Merc with a Mouth’ is most popular for his black and satirical humor, and pop-culture references. Mentally unstable but with regenerative capabilities, Deadpool will definitely be an interesting addition to the movie.
In addition, the possibility of a Deadpool movie by David Goyer has long been on the cards. Goyer also loves Ryan Reynolds for the role, and with there being less and less chance of a The Flash movie in Reynolds’ future, could this be his chance at a superhero franchise?
